Well worth a Hot Deal

Played the Valley last Friday on a windy day (I reckon it was about 50 yards difference with / into the wind; on 11 I drove it 340 yards or so with the wind, on 12 I drove it 240 yards into the wind with just as good a strike). The course was still playing on mats but that didn't really detract from the experience. Only one green was closed for reseeding, other than that the course was in great condition for late March.

The Valley course has lost two holes (5th and 6th) for the new holes on the Dunluce links. You can get a good look at the new holes for the Dunluce from the 5th tee of the Valley. The rearranged version of the Valley is great and I'm not sure the old holes would have made it any better. The holes gained (17th and 18th) are a nice way to end your round.

Overall, I was happy with my afternoon of golf. Not sure it would be worth £50, but if you can get it on a Hot Deal at £20 then go for it.

Lovely course even when wet and windy!

I played Concra Wood on the first day it had been open for about a week. The course was very wet underfoot and it was a windy day but I was impressed.
The greens were in great condition even for February and for the amount of rain / snow / frost that had been about for the last few days.
I can imagine that on a calm, sunny day the course would be visually stunning. When I played it was windy and a bit overcast. The course will punish loose driving but would reward straight hitters and bold players.
The holes near the water are great, the water is definitely in play if you're wild but there's enough room to be a bit loose without ending up wet.
The course is well worth the trip and with a 'Hot Deal' price it's an absolute bargain.

Great value for money

I played Killymoon as a last minute arrangement while my wife was seeing a friend. The course was in great condition considering it is now into November, dry underfoot and a little bit of ball plugging around the course but nothing extreme.

I was playing by myself and got around in just under 2 and a half hours which was super; the course was quiet which helped.

Decent holiday round

My Dad and I played this course while staying in one of the villas lining the second fairway.
We managed to get a twilight rate which was good as I'm not sure the course would be worth the full price (although golf on the Algarve seems more expensive than the UK).
The course was in OK condition, October is probably nearing the end of their season so with that in mind the course held up well. It's not an overly difficult track but still an enjoyable round when on holiday and playing with rental clubs.
The big disappointment was that the lay out of the course has been altered to remove "Sir Henry's Challenge". The original hole was a 600+ metre par 5 which I fancied having a bash at in 2 but it is now a short par 3 with a green dumped in the middle of the fairway and then a shorter par 5. This also means another nicer looking par 3 has been left out of the routing. Bit of a shame.
Pace of play was great after we had been let through by the group ahead of us. Part of the twilight rate was play as many as you can before dark and I managed to play an extra 4 holes and probably could have played more if I hadn't wanted to get back for a dip in the pool at the villa!

A long awaited round

I had wanted to play Lisburn for a long time (never got the chance as I junior as my club were never drawn against them in any competition). The course did not disappoint!

The course is challenging but fair with some stand out holes. There are a few holes which don't linger in the mind but overall it was a great experience and well worth the wait. The staff in the pro shop were friendly and the pace of play was pretty decent.

Highly recommend Lisburn GC to anyone.
