Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course
Played On 09/27/2018Great Experience
Weather, perfect. Course beautiful and challenging.
Staff friendly and helpful. Five hour round could have been 45 min less if people knew how to use carts properly. Drive to the mid way point between balls, passenger take 2 or 3 clubs and goes to their ball, driver goes to his. Passenger hits their ball and walks toward hole driver picks them up. Saves 3-5 minutes a hole.
Besides that, a fantastic day.

Played On 07/25/2018Little bit of rain has greened things up
We've had very little rain this summer and when I drove by the course a week or so ago, it looked burned out. We've had some good rain over the last couple of days and the course looks great. Fairways are green and lush and the greens are in great shape.
Always enjoy playing here.
Black Diamond Golf Club
Played On 05/17/2018Perfect Day
22 Deg., sunny and little wind. What more could you ask for? One of me and my wife's favorite courses with it's great scenery and the fact that you get two kinds of courses, links and traditional all in one challenging package. Course has greened up nicely and since they are now able to water the greens they are in good shape. Love the 10th. This time it got me but there's always a next time.
Black Diamond Golf Club
Played On 05/02/2018Greens in good condition.
First round year here this year and surprised how good the conditions were considering the late start to the season. Greens are greening up and pretty smooth to putt. Very few winter kill spots. Supposed to start at 2:04 but the tee sheet was open and we started early. Round in under 4 hours. Course should be perfect in a couple of weeks with some warm weather and a little rain.

Planned a little golf getaway for my wife and I and another couple to the Niagara area. We're from the Toronto area and wanted to take in a Bisons game so I looked for a course on Golfnow and this gem popped up with a Hot Deal. The marshal, an 80 year old gentleman, took the time to give us a lot of tips about how to approach the course because there were a few blind tee shots due to elevation change. The round started off with a little rain but ended after the first hole. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the amenities are top notch. The course is very challenging and in excellent condition and I would like to attempt it from the blues next time. My wife's new favorite course. Can't wait to come back and play again.
Cheraw State Park Golf Course
Played On 05/07/2017A Gem in the Pines
As a Canadian, who plays mainly public courses, we don't have many that compare with this State Park gem. The day was perfect and although they had had a tremendous amount of rain the course was in great condition. Pace of play was a little slow but we were a twosome following foursomes so that's understandable. Greens were fast and true and there is a nice mixture of difficulty with the course layout. My second time playing there and my wife's first. She loved the scenery and would love to come back when we're in the area.
Sevierville Golf Club - Highlands Course
Played On 04/29/2017Great experience
First time at this course. Upon arrival staff were very courteous and attentive. Played as a single and put together with a delightful husband and wife. Started a few minutes early which was nice and pace was acceptable until the 'tough' holes began and things started to bog down. The course was in great shape but the greens had recently been punched so they were nothing like the pristine practice green. An excellent variety of holes with a couple of blind shots to add some more difficulty. Overall a fantastic day!
Wolf Run Golf Club
Played On 10/02/2016Nice Greens
Despite the tough dry summer we've had the course was in great shape and the greens were true and receptive to approach shots. Tee shot placement is important on a number of holes to ensure your not blocked out by tree(s), ie holes 5, 8, 9, 14.
Legends on the Niagara Golf Course - Battlefield
Played On 10/12/2015And the Winds Blew
Nice sunny day but windy. Helped sometimes but like a wall other times. Course was in usual great shape. Greens were running, what I thought to be, fast. I prefer the Battlefield course as it is a little more challenging with great views of the club house on 9 & 18. Starter very amenable to letting us off a little early. Always a pleasure to play either of the two courses.
Peninsula Lakes Golf Club - Hillside
Played On 07/25/2015Beautiful Course
We've played Peninsula Lakes a couple of times and when I saw the GN deal I jumped on it. Played as a twosome with my wife. Course was in great condition, staff was friendly and helpful and two foursomes let us play through so the pace of play was excellent. My wife shot her lowest round, 84 so the reverse of the old saying "When momma ain't happy..." was in vogue yesterday. Really enjoyed the day.
River Oaks Golf Club
Played On 03/14/2015Soggy
We had played this course a few years ago and weren't overly impressed. Thought we would give it another chance. Forecast was rain and possible thunderstorms but we went out anyway. That's what you do when you're a million miles from home. We got wet but there was no lightning. The course was understandably wet but was actually in great shape. The greens were very good. Changed our opinion of the course to impressed and would certainly play again. Staff was very friendly and let us out way early despite having a red hot tee time so we were appreciative. All in all a great day!
Longleaf Golf & Family Club
Played On 03/07/2014Rain Rain Rain
Purchased the Hot Deal and was watching the weather. Got to the course and it was only raining slightly. My friend and I decided to play. Big mistake.
Rain started in earnest after the 7th hole and it was about 40 Degrees. Despite having 'rain suits' we ultimately got soaked. Hard to hold the club and and have any feel on the green.
Course was in good shape but deteriorated rapidly with the increasing rain.
I like the course and would play it again but only when the sun is shining.
Baxter Creek Golf Club
Played On 09/01/2013Good layout and in great shape.
Course was in great shape. Don't need the driver on all the par 4's because placement is the key. Greens are challenging. Got my first ever hole in one on No.4 so that kind of made my day. Pace of play was good for a Sunday.
Lindsay Golf and Country Club
Played On 08/17/2013Great value.
Always like to play Lindsay. There's not really any elevation change so they have strategically inserted hazards to make up for it. The course plays long and some holes are quite narrow which keeps you on your toes. Overall the course was in great shape. Also a great practica area.
Verde River Golf & Social Club
Played On 07/11/2013Amazing desert views
Course was in good shape and greens were true and consistent. Generous fairways on most of the long holes but still easy to find a bunker or two. Played from the gold (blue) tees and it was a good test of golf. Would easily recommend this course to anyone. Spartan accomodations but the staff was super friendly.
Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 07/08/2013Challenging course with lacklustre service.
Visiting Phoenix from Toronto and played the Palm course off the back tees and loved it. Greens were in excellent shape. One of the nicest clubhouses I've been in for a semi-private club. Service was the only shortfall and kind of hard to rate. Not dismissive just lacklustre. I would certainly recommend it to anyone. Also great value for the money.
Oliver's Nest Golf and Country Club
Played On 06/30/2013Fun course depending on the tees you use.
Course is in pretty good shape. Greens were consistent and challenging. The Golfnow tee time was great because we missed most of the crowd or so we thought until we came to the 10th tee and all of a sudden there was a slow moving foursome in front of us. They didn't let us, a twosome, play through until th 16th hole even though we were on their tail the whole time. Obviously they don't watch the Golf Channel and its new emphasis on speeding up play. Had a great time despite this.
Lakeridge Links Golf Course
Played On 06/08/2013Course is in great shape and very playable.
I have always liked this course but don't play it very often because I find it to be too pricey. Good deal on Golfnow though. A couple of the par three greens were a little beat up but overall the course was in great shape. The greens are fast and undulating which presents a good challenge.
Black Diamond Golf Club
Played On 09/16/2012The course is a favourite of my wife and I.
The front and back nines are totally different with one being a links style and the other traditional through the trees. Great views of the countryside. On this particular day the pace of play was brutal and we just managed to finish before pulling out the flashlights. Course is usually in good condition with the greens usually running fast.
Thank you for the feedback and we're glad to hear you enjoyed the course!
