I have to say the staff from the bag drop, starter, cart staff, beverage cart to the marshals were outstanding and very nice and accommodating. With that said, no one likes a 5+ hour round that everyone encountered this past Saturday. 2 outings and we followed the 2nd one consisting of 24 players. This must have been the National Worst Golfers Championship since I didn’t watch a decent shot from the group in front of us. With as many golfers were playing that morning, a double tee start should have implemented. The course marshals were doing their best but it was too late.
This puts a lot of pressure on the marshals when the pro shop is at fault. Expectations for fast play must be explained to outings. We finished in 5 hours and that’s because one group let us through. 5:15 otherwise.
The greens were nice and firm but tees were full of weeds. Looks like no pre-emergent was applied. I can’t say that I will return especially when a course like Celebration is available.
