Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
Played On 03/21/2021Gorgeous course but wind was too much
Great resort and would love to play all 3 courses. This was our last day in Vegas and we were excited to play Snow Mountain. The course was in tremendous shape. Only problem was the wind was out of control. On a par 3 I had a 15 foot putt and hit it two feet by the hole. The wind blew my ball 60 feet back below the cup before it stopped. I will give the clubhouse credit and said you could play 4 holes and if the weather was too bad you could get a full refund. We wanted to play so we put up with the conditions. Would love to try to play it again with decent weather.
Trinity Forest Golf Club
Played On 10/13/2020A great challenge
Have a buddy who is a member. Clubhouse is gorgeous and also serves excellent food. Driving range is spacious and you can see the SMU clubhouse on the other side. The putting green is large and the greens are fast which I like.
Definitely a placement course. You normally are required to walk the course but they also provide push carts. Very nice course to walk. They offer bottled water and snacks every few holes. Most greens are pretty big with a lot of undulations. Several of the greens are designed as an upside down bowl which means if it is on the edge it will roll off 20 yards.
First class venue and a top 5 course in DFW.
Pebble Beach Golf Links™
Played On 07/24/2020Worth the money
Everything I expected and more. Driving range is about a mile away and nothing special but the putting green was nice. There is a shuttle to take you to the course.
It is surreal to play the course when you have memorized the holes from the watching tournaments over the years. Most proud of my pars on 7 and 8 which are iconic holes. I was fortunate to have someone pay for my round but would pay the green fee in a heart beat. Hope to come back again.
Spyglass Hill™ Golf Course
Played On 07/20/2020Unreal course
The hype you hear about Spyglass is true. Gorgeous layout and views. Only thing that surprised me was the greens werent as fast as I expected. First 5 holes will match anything you have ever played.

Got a great online deal for $50. Weather was 58 degrees with very little wind. A lot of different hole designs which was fun. Greens were in excellent conditions. Would definitely play again.
Promontory Club - Painted Valley Golf Course
Played On 07/14/2018Wow
Course has it all. Amazing facilities and they had breakfast tacos and drinks for us before we started. Not a member but we were able to get on since they offer a few tee times to the public. Paid $185 for the round and the fore caddie was a separate cost.
Driving range is plush with the most beautiful views in the background. Starter was very friendly. Great layout and the course was in pristine condition. Grill on the course had some great hot dogs. On the back 9 there are some fun elevated tee boxes. Greens were fast but fair.
Can’t wait to come back to Park City and play this course again!
How did you go about getting a non-member tee time? I would love to check it out.
Canyons Golf Course
Played On 07/13/2018Crazy but fun course
Gorgeous course with a ton of elevation. Staff was very nice. Played for $75 which is a bargain in a town that is very expensive. I would definitely play again for that cost.
The negatives
* only saw the cart girl on #1. We called on 14 and they said you can stop after 15 and you pass a 7-11?????? We did stop and get a drink. Supposed to be a drink/food station on 5 but it wasn’t open. Another water station on back 9 and it was almost empty. Bring lots of liquids.
* the geeens are in excellent shape but the undulations were crazy. Had several 50 foot putts where I expected to also have to hit through a clowns mouth.
* on most holes it is extremely tight especially on several holes where there are elevated tee boxes.
* bring a lot of golf balls
With all of this being said we had a great time and would probably play much better the 2nd time knowing where we need to aim on blind shots. Beautiful views!!

Got the $89 all inclusive special. Got lunch and chose the wedge salad with steak. Not bad. Rannge is pretty small but the staff helping were excellent. The starter was a nice guy and gave out great information. We also saw him on the course during the round trying to speed up a few foursomes which we appreciated. Front 9 had some great elevation which is rare in Dallas. A few pin placements were questionable due to either you make the putt or your miss goes by at least 10 feet. We saw the cart girl at least 5 times which is excellent when the soft drinks and snacks are free. I believe it is on 7/12 that is a food shed where you can get a great hot dog.
Loved all the dog legs. Some nice long par 4’s and well as some shorter ones. After the round we got the meatballs as an appetizer which were excellent and the chicken and biscuits to dinner.
Normally this course costs over $200. If you can get the discounted all inclusive rate buy it! Great day at a great course.
Thanks for the tip, where do you find the discounted rates?

Port Royal Golf Course
Played On 06/12/2018Great course and views!
On a short vacation in Bermuda and really wanted to play the course. I knew the weather would not be ideal but was willing to play in any conditions. Course is beautiful and lush. Only issue was due to the rain the sand traps were holding water. A lot of elevation changes which were enjoyable. Views of the ocean are amazing. If you are in Bermuda play this course.
Legacy Ridge Country Club
Played On 06/08/2018Very impressed for a small town course
Played with a buddy whose family lives close by. Front 9 is pretty open but several ponds are in play. Back 9 is much tighter with large trees. Course was in very good shape and the greens were well kept. Only paid $23 for twilight on a Friday and it was not very busy at all. Great value for a pretty nice course.
Also a Mexican food joint in the club house which was pretty good. Great small town feel.
Mountain View at Callaway Gardens Resort
Played On 05/05/2018Worst greens I have ever played
Flew into Atlanta on business/fun trip. Had a buddy who had played it along time ago so we drove from Atlanta to the course. Putting green was in horrible shape but I had hoped it was nothing like what we would see on the course. I don’t know if the greens had a disease but it was like putting on ugly concrete. It was a shame because the course is very pretty. It was almost impossible to hit the green with an iron and for the ball to stay on the green. Paid $70 for the round and felt cheated. Would come back and play again if I knew their greens improved.
Farm Golf Club, The
Played On 05/04/2018Amazing course
Lucky enough to be invited by a member. Just a gorgeous course with fun elevations. Biggest challenge is a number of holes are up hill with a blind iron shot. Greens were in perfect condition and very challenging. Very difficult if you don’t have a member telling you where to hit it. Never turn down an invitation if you get asked to play this course.
Black Mountain Golf & Country Club - Founders/Desert Course
Played On 03/17/2018Save your money
Was looking for a cheap course before I had to fly home. Their fairway “grass” was non existent. $30 course at best. Their greens were nice but not receptive. Staff was nice. Wasn’t expecting much for $60 but didn’t expect to see brown fairways.
Sidewinder at Gold Canyon Golf Resort
Played On 03/16/2018Fun short track
Course was in great shape. Shorter than what I am used to playing. Practice range is below average. The other course has all the fun elevation changes but is also twice the cost. Was playing with my son so I chose to play Sidewinder instead. We had a great time. We will definitely come back.
Thank you for visiting us at Links at Sierra Blanca, The. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
