Down River Golf Course
Played On 07/01/2015Close to Bedford Springs
We played this course because we were going to be staying at Bedford Springs for a couple days. The course is only 10 to 15 mins from the resort. If you take advantage of one of the golf now deals you get a lot of bang for your buck. Overall the course was in pretty good shape for the amount of rain we have been getting. I recommend giving it a try if you're in the Bedford Area.
Apollo Elks Country Club
Played On 08/09/2014Good value but bring lots of bug spray!
We took advantage of one of the hot deal thru Golf Now so I thought we got a lot of value for our money. Course is wide open and was in very good shape for August. We had 3 golfers in our group and we able to play 18 in 3 hours so the pace of play is great. We only saw 2 other groups on the course so it seems to be a great course for beginners. The course played a lot longer than the score card so I think some of the distances must be wrong. I would also bring lots of bug spray. They must not spray at all for bugs on the course like some of the other courses in the Pittsburgh area do. Overall I believe the course is worth the drive for the experience. It was nice to not be rushed on the course.
Meadowink Golf Course
Played On 07/18/2014Very nice course for the money.
I really enjoyed playing Meadowink and was very pleased with condition of the course. The course is pretty challenging for your average golfer. The greens didn't have much break to them which helped my putting game! The only negative I have about the course is the ranger was missing in action for most of the day so the pace of play was super slow because of a group of 5.
Scenic Links of Westmoreland
Played On 07/11/2014Course is in great shape!
Cherry Creek is a excellent public golf course. The course is in great shape for July. The only tee box that was really in need of some work was #18. The rest course is looking good and it's a fun course to play that will force you to use all your clubs. The staff is excellent every time I visit the course and the 19th hole is great for food & drinks.
Pheasant Ridge Golf Club
Played On 07/03/2014Great Course for the $
Pheasant Ridge is a well taken care of public course. You get a lot of bang for your buck with playing this course. It's worth the drive and is a hidden gem in the Pittsburgh area. The staff is very friendly and our group enjoyed playing the course and will be back in the fall!
Cambrian Hills Golf Course
Played On 06/14/2014One of the best 9 Hole Courses in PA!
I played Cambrian Hills with my father in law and wife this weekend. This course is in amazing shape and just has a special feel to it! I live in the Pittsburgh area and would put this course up against the top courses in Pittsburgh. It's worth the drive or if you're in the Prince Gallitizin State Park area. I look forward to playing this course many times this summer and fall when we are in the area.
Cherry Wood Golf Course
Played On 06/13/2014Stay away from this course!
This course is so run down I don't think words can describe how bad of shape it is in! The greens are like fairways at most courses, the fairways are like rough's and the roughs are like a forest. The whole place is just a giant mess and needs someone to come in and shut it down. The lady that waited on us was so friendly and nice. My wife and I felt so bad for her that she has to work at a place like this. We only saw one guy working at the course and he was trying to cut the grass but was doing a pour job at best of cutting the grass. My advice is just to avoid this place at all cost!
First Nine/Third Nine at Cloverleaf Golf Club
Played On 06/08/2014A Hidden Gem of 27 Holes
Cloverleaf Golf Course is a solid golf course. It has 27 holes and you get a lot of bang for your buck. They offer some nice specials during the week and on the weekend after 3:00 PM. It's well taken care of and nobody is going to ever call it Oakmont but for your average golfer it's a nice course. The 3rd Nine is the shortest and easiest of the 3 courses. If you're in the Murrysville/Delmont area I recommend playing 27 holes at Cloverleaf!
Mount Odin Golf Course
Played On 06/01/2014Tough Course but a lot of bang for your buck!
I play Mount Odin once a summer with some family & friends. It is a very challenging course and you're a beginner I would stay away from this course. The course is pretty well taken care of it and the staff is excellent. If you take a advantage of golf now and the hot deals you usually can get a pretty good deal for Mount Odin that gives you a lot of bang for your buck!
Maple Crest Golf Course
Played On 7/26/2013Friendly staff, course needs a lot of work
The staff is very nice! The course needs a lot of work. You get what you pay for on this course. Great course for a beginner golfer.
