Albuquerque Country Club - in the heart of Downtown Albuquerque

There are few courses in the Southwest that have been so meticulously reconditioned over the past ten years, than this immaculate track.

I believe each of the greens were re done over the past ten years. The refashioning was superb and spoke more of the club’s drive for improvement of enjoyment of play than of necessity.

There are many fine golfers at all levels here. There is also an unmistakable old Mexico gentility to this club. The array of professionals who are members is impressive. Here , dentist plays alongside Federal Judge and local attorney. The clubhouse is compact and you must play with a member to get on, but that is most graciously arranged through the Pro Shop.
The food is four star and reasonably priced. Also, the course is open for play throughout the year. Best time to play is late October when the searing heat of the summer has passed, and the autumn leaves still cling to the branches.

The features I most enjoy are the tree lined fairways , the pace and verity of the putting services, the placement of sand traps, and the course’s modest length. It is peaceful here and you can walk eighteen in under three hours.
