Golden Hills is a great golf course but the pace of play is frustratingly slow. A tactful ranger would certainly speed things along. I live 5 minutes away and only play the course infrequently because of the slow pace of play.

Played On 03/24/2021Great layout, superb staff
New Smyrna is the best conditioned course I have played this year, and the architecture of the course is outstanding. Add to that the friendliness of the staff and the very reasonable cost to play, and you have a true winner. I already look forward to our next trip to New Smyrna Beach and the chance to play this course again.

Played On 07/16/2018Well Worth It
This is a fun course to play, not too easy and certainly not overly penal. The fairways are in as good a shape as any course within 50 miles, and the greens run true and at moderate speed. The course and the GolfNow Hot Deal made it well worth the hour drive to get there.

Played On 06/26/2018Love Hurts
I love to play this course because it has an exceptional architecture, it's a great value whether or not you play via Golfnow, and it's just a a fun place for golf. So I was hurt when I walked to the clubhouse to check in the other day and saw the sign announcing that the course will permanently close on July 18. I later heard that its sister course in Florence, SC will also be closing. There are other courses in our area, but I'll miss those early morning tee shots at Crickentree, the quiet beauty at that time of day at that place, the staff friendliness, and the chance to have so much fun at such a great price. Good luck and Godspeed to the staff and management.

I'm grateful for golf courses like this one where you can experience a unique and challenging layout, enjoy the scenery, and have a good time without spending a lot of money. Course conditions here are as good as I've seen in the past year.

Played On 05/19/2018Still a good value
Fore the most part, the greens are okay and will run fairly true, but in some areas they are rough and bumpy. I imagine the recent downpours play a part in that, but some of the problem areas are chronic. Still, this is an outstanding layout and a beautiful place to play golf. GolfNow hot deals make this an exceptional value.
Hickory Knob Golf Course
Played On 04/10/2018Wish I lived closer to Hickory Knob
I play Hickory Knob about twice a year and thoroughly enjoy each outing. The layout is exceptional, the scenery spectacular, and the people who work there are happy and helpful all the time. I wish I could play there all the time. A word of caution: The resident crows are adept at stealing snacks from golf carts; keep your Nabs in the bag. Can't wait to go back.
Northwoods Golf Course
Played On 03/14/2018Great value
There are several reasons this course is so popular. It is centrally located, has an outstanding and varied design, good practice facilities, and greens fees are reasonable (even more so when using a GolfNow Hot Deal). The greens are a bit rough but the crew is working hard to get them ready for spring play. If you play as a single or double, start very early or late in the day because wait times can be frustrating. And beware of fivesomes...really not cool for a course of this caliber.
Oak Hills Golf Club
Played On 02/21/2018Exceptional value
It's hard to imagine being able to play a course like Oak Hills for only eight dollars, but I did it with my
GolfNow hot deal plus bonus points. It's
Christmas in February.

Played On 10/12/2017Great course, great value
Every couple of weeks or so I drive nearly an hour to play this course, most often via a GolfNow Hot Deal, and I will continue to do so because it is a great course to play and an exceptional value. There are several other courses that are much closer, and good values, too, but the course at Crickentree is special. Course conditions are the best I've seen in a long time, the staff are friendly and helpful, and it's just a fun and rewarding place to play.
Oak Hills Golf Club
Played On 09/22/2017Great course, great deal
It's no wonder this is a popular golf course...great layout, excellent conditions, challenging yet very fair, scenic, and the list goes on. Playing Oak Hills via a GolkfNow Hot Deal is icing on the cake.

The more I play this course, the better I like it. The course architecture is superb and the fairways are in really good shape. The regular greens fees are very reasonable, and the GolfNow Hot Deals for the course are outstanding values.
The Golf Club of South Carolina at Crickentree
Played On 05/04/2017Faded star still shines
Previous reviews that criticize course conditioning are certainly accurate, so let's note some of the problems for the record. Greens are splotchy and are generally not cleared of grass clippings. The rough in some areas (adjacent to greens, say) is not routinely mowed and is weedy in places. Fairway grass cover is somewhat inconsistent, leaving some spots barren, pebbly and/or weedy. The bunkers are all now waste areas because of no maintenance , erosion and lost sand. Some stretches of cart paths are treacherous because of damage caused by tree roots. And tee boxes lack grass cover. In short, this star has noticeably faded. But for a lot of us, this is still a great course to play.
The architecture of the course is and always has been impressive. The holes aptly fit the landscape and are not artificially chiseled into the terrain. It is a scenic place with pleasant and strategic elevation changes, ponds and creeks, and beautiful hardwoods. When you stand on a tee box, the way the hole needs to be played becomes quickly apparent. The layout is indeed challenging, good (and even average) shots are rewarded, and only really bad shots are severely punished, which should be the case anyway. Houses adjoin some of the holes yet are situated well back of the course. The staff and crew are friendly and helpful. And the price is right.
Until two weeks ago, I had not played this course for fifteen years and I've since played it three times. I'll go back.
We love hearing about our golfers' experiences. Please tell us more about what you enjoyed during your round. Thanks for the 5 star rating!
