Fun to play

Apart from a few rough patches mostly on # 9 this course was in good condition with nice fairways and quick greens.
This is an excellent layout with some hilly holes on the front nine, a flatter back nine with a beautiful stretch towards the clubhouses with the island green. It was a very quiet day and the pace of play was excellent. On a hot day there were plenty of water stations to keep hydrated.
I always enjoy playing this course with some challenging but fair holes. I would recommend it to anyone.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Challenging with the wind

I have played this course many times and have enjoyed the good deals I have found--well worth the half hour trip from Palm Springs
For January the course was in good condition with firm fairways and fairly quick greens.
It is an excellent layout with plenty of variety.
I found all of the staff extremely friendly and helpful.
The only issue with this area is the wind which blows hard frequently, making the back nine particularly difficult, nevertheless I will always have this course close to the top of my list.

Severely drought affected.

Got a really inexpensive round for two with a cart on Tee Times.
Given the watering restrictions I can accept the mostly brown and bare fairways, but the pace of play was terrible--we teed off at 12:15 pm but had to quit on # 17 because of bad light at 5:10 pm. The greens were green, reasonably quick but a little bumpy.
The staff were extremely accomodating, but while slow play is the bane of many public courses, incomplete rounds of just under 5 hours are not really fun.
Hopefully with some more rain this course will return to the condition we see depicted on the website.

Fun course for a great price

Got a very good deal on Golf Now and well worth it.
Played the West and South courses off the blue tees. The first three holes on the west course weret played in the wash and were quite long. Once we reached the houses on the fourth hole most of the the holes were quite short , but lots of fun with some doglegs and water.
The south course was not quite so enjoyable but nevertheless in great shape.
The greens were very smooth, well kept and quite quick. The fairways throughout the course were also very good and the sand traps well sanded and groomed. The staf were extremely friendly and very helpful. We played in 3 1/2 hours with no hold ups at all.
As a low handicapper , I would play from the black tees in the future, and would certainly go back if the price is right.

Still a good value

There was a lot of reconstruction on the back nine, but this did not really ruin our round of golf. Glad to see the course reverting back to a desert like environment.
The staff were exceptionaly friendly, helpful and courteous even down to the staff in the bar afterwards.
Despite large areas of ground under repair due to the reconstruction on the back nine, the course was very playable with good fairways and moderately fast but true greens. The round took our foursome exactly four hours and we were not held up or pushed from behind.
Because the price was right and we had a very pleasant experience, we will go back again.

Best deal this fall

This was definitely the best deal in the Bend area late in September.
It had rained recently and parts of the fairways were a little damp, but generally the course was in very good condition. The greens were very receptive but still quite fast and true.
The course is a little tight in places, and requires some accurate tee shots, but it is fair . The blue/ white combination tees are great for the mid handicap golfer.

Great value

This was the third time I have played this course and well worth traveling the 35 miles from Bend.
The fairways were great and the greens were excellent and extremely quick and the bunkers well taken care of.
We played in about 3 1/2 hours including stopping at the turn to get refreshments. The hot dog and micro brew were great value.
The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly.
I will definitely return to play again this summer.

Great value on a great day

I have been in the valley since December and have shied away from playing this course because of past experiences of late starts, slow play and indifferent conditions.
I was looking for a tee time at the last moment and couldn't resist the great rate for a 12:18 start on Sunday.
I was most pleasantly surprised when I got to the course to find hardly anyone there compared to previous visits and we got off to a prompt start . Apart from the slow group in front of us who actually let our twosome through after six holes it was a great afternoon. The fairways were firm but green, and the greens were smooth and fast . We played in 3 hours and 45 minutes. The staff members were exceptionall friendly.
I have always liked the layout of this course with lots of hazards but fairly placed, and based on my experience this time, I will be back frequently to take advantage of the great deals on a fine golf course.

Jewel off I-10

This was my first time on this course and I loved it.
While the drought has affected most courses in this area with dry spots around the periphery, the course itself was very playable .
The fairways were very firm and with the very warm temperatures on my play day, the ball carried a long way making the long par fours very reachable with mid irons and the par fives with wedges. The greens were very quick and smooth but were receptive to a high ball and getting close to the pin was not always a challenege.
The layout was excellent with a great variety of holes , making shot and club selection very important.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient, and the bar inside the cub house was well stocked with snacks and beverages to go.
I got a great deal on golf now and will certainly be back to play this course again from Palm Springs, where such deals are hard to come by in the winter months - although I will choose my date carefully as I am aware that the winds can blow briskly in this area.

Much improved course conditions

I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course compared to last year.
The fairways were green and a lot of the bare patches I remember from playing it last year had disappeared. The greens were very even and true and in good condition for December. the bunkers were manicured and soft.
It seems that the management had invested more time and money in making the course more attractive and playable.
This is not an easy course with narrow fairways and small greens, but with the improvements made this year, it is well worth playing for the money.

Nice course in excellent condition

I got a great rate on Golf Now, teeing off at 1.10 pm in December and getting in 18 holes, so it was outstanding value for a top resort course particularly since range balls were also a part of the deal.
This course is well bunkered and the stray shot is very likely to get trapped. The fairways are undulating and wide in most areas.
The course was in great condition with lush fairways and true greens although not particularly fast which is what one can expect for December.
I enjoyed the round, but am not particularly fond of courses weaving between houses which the front nine is , although the back nine does open up quite a bit and is more interesting.

Great course not well managed

I had a 1:15 tee time and when I arrived it was a zoo there and they were teeing off 30 minutes late, so did not get to start until 1:45 and did not finish the round.
We had to wait on every hole and I never saw one Marshall except on the sixteenth hole who told us he was closing the bathrooms ( while there were still players on the course )
I would love to complete this course as I enjoyed it, but I suggest you do not taken any tee time after 1:00 pm as I have heard, and experienced that late starts and slow play are quite common.
I would recommend this course if they got their act together to speed up play.

Beautifully kept course with great views.

I have played Cimarron Boulder course three times now and love this links style set up. The first time I played there was a special valentines day double shotgun which was not managed too well with the final groups teeing of too late to get 18 holes in. However I decided to go back to enjoy the spectacular views, a challenging but very well laid out and well kept course, and the past two times I played in under 4 hours without having to hurry.
For the past two rounds I got great deals from golfnow making them some of the best values in the valley.
The staff were great!

Nice course well maintained with a very good variety of holes.

I got a very good rate of $49 from Golf Now which included cart and range balls.
Despite a frost delay, the staff did a great job in getting players off as quickly as possible, and despite the back up we were able to play in about 4 3/4 hours
It is a tight but fair course playing off the blue tees.
As a visitor from Oregon I have played both courses now and I would recommend both of them. This is a very nice golf facility and will be back as often as I am in the LA area.

Fabulous golf course in magnificent surroundings

This is the best course I have played in the valley so far.
It is beautifully situated right up against the rocks with pristine fairways and great greens. The course has many hazards ,placed to demand accurate tee shots, although the fairways are generally wide enough to rescue the odd pull or push.
There are many different tees to suit players of all levels and I particularly liked the combo blue/ white option which suited my game very well.
I got a steal of a deal from golf now for this course even though I teed off at 12:30 pm and lost the sun on the back nine behind the mountains at about 3:15 making it a bit chilly towards the end of the round.
I will certainly be back to play this course.

This course has a wonderful selection and variety of holes and would have been a delight to play if not for the wind.

I arrived at a nearly empty course at 11:00am and got straight on. I thought the course was in great shape and an excellent layout, but I would have liked to have played it on a day when the winds were not blowing at 30 mph, which I understand is not uncommon here. I believe I was the only one left on the course at about 1:00 pm and at the turn I met at least four people who had given up.
It was extremely challenging in this wind, and if I was to play it again I would have to be patient enough to wait for a calmer day which is is very tough to predict in what someone has called a 'wind tunnel'. I would advise everyone to check out the conditions before showing up.
The staff were ultra friendly and accommodating.
