Palm Beach National Golf Course
Played On 01/01/2019NEW YEAR CHALLANGE
It was a warm and sunny day in Mudville when PBN was at the plate. Sending off fivesomes, and party groups with their own adult drink cart. A boom box made the day drag.
Once past this backlog, we were pretty much ok. Not really good to the over 70 players behind this group. For the sake of 10 players many more were inconvenienced. Not sour grapes on my part, I was also stuck behind a similar fivesome on the previous Saturday. The only reason I gave the course another try was that another person booked the tee time.
To soothe our ruffled feathers, a ranger suggested we complain to the manager and we could get a rain check. Hmmmm, to come back and be exposed possibly to the same situation.
One would think that management would employ a modicum of civility to their mode of operation regarding the good of the game. AAB ALL ABOUT THE BUCK.
Rethink playing here if you are looking for a normal round of golf.

I have played the course a few times and I am reviewing because of the way the starter and or management sent players out and managed the pace of play.
We were a foursome and the starter put out a fivesome with the provision that they keep up pace. They were a little slow on the front nine and were put back on the front nine at the turn to speed up the remaining players behind them. Ok, but as we caught the foursome in front of us, in 3 carts the pace slowed to a five hour round. No ranger in sight to speed up play, but he sat and watched with no assistance or word to us as we played the back nine.
If you can stand this sort of course management then play this course.
Conditions of course good, some greens had spots with different grass intrusions which distracted from the condition.
Generally a decent place to play. But if the above situation happens to you, YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN FAIR WARNING----PATIENCE IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY!!!!

The course is in good shape. A fair play for an executive course. Water, Water everywhere, that will test your short game.
Boca Dunes Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/21/2016A Fair Course
Playing features are fair and challenging. Front nine has a few greens with minor issues. Back nine sanded week of Dec 21. Overall a decent course for many levels of play.

The course played well. If there were 150 yard sticks in the fairway it would help players to better locate the flag on the greens. Given the layout, we were constantly looking for flags as first time players on the course.
Overall, I would play the course again.
Villa Del Ray Golf Club
Played On 02/10/2016The course is coming back
Course conditions particularly the greens are beginning to fill in. They are still sandy, hard, but somewhat fair. Land your approach high or you will roll off the greens.
Play is slow,no help from ranger. Did not see one the entire round. Had to call one due to very slow threesome in front of our foursome. Second time this has happened.
Will play there again.
