Falls Village Golf Course
Played On 02/15/2019Not worth it
2pm tee time on a gorgeous friday afternoon. The fairways were in great shape, greens have a lot of damage, but cup placement for the most part kept that as a none issue. The bunkers are pitiful, can't play out of them. Then there is speed of play, I was in a twosome, played the front nine is 1:45, the foursome in front of us stop at the turn. on the 11th hole we caught up to the FIVESOME in front of us. We though of skipping a hole and passing them, but there was another fivesome in front of them.
River Ridge Golf Club
Played On 08/16/2018Best course in Raleigh area.
Course is always in great shape, great staff, challenging layout, always a good time. And free range balls is a very nice touch, found at no other course around.
Falls Village Golf Course
Played On 08/04/2018Don't bother
I think they should be ashamed to charge $45 for a round. The greens are in bad shape, most of them have bare spots. Forget about the bunkers, they were either dry clay as hard as cement or filled with water. I hit two bunkers and couldn't find my ball in them due to standing water. Even on a lot of the tee boxes it was hard to find a decent place to tee it up. We had a lot of rain the day before so I can kind of forgive the standing water, but even without rain the bunkers would have been all clay.
River Golf & Country Club, The
Played On 07/11/2018A nice layout that needs some TLC
I like the layout of the course, some very interesting holes. However, the greens were in terrible shape. They had recently been airified, but even without that there were many greens that had large spots with out grass. The tee-boxes hadn't beeen mowed in quite a while and on many of them it was difficult to find a level spot.
Falls Village Golf Course
Played On 06/29/2016Poor Value
This course is over priced. Many greens had black mold instead of grass and the bunkers were nothing but red clay, no sand at all. Many tee boxes were mostly mud and did not have a level spot with where they were placed today. The course layout is nice, back side requires thinking off the tee box, with driver being a mistake on many holes. Lots of blind tee shots, so knowing the course is a must.
Lochmere Golf Club
Played On 04/17/2015Lochmere
Played 18 Holes on a Friday, 11am Tee-Time. Pace of play was great. Greens are in very good shape, dry, somewhat hilly, but are rolling true. Course is an interesting layout with some dog legs, but you can use driver on all the holes if you wish to take a few chances. The only problem, and apparently it has been a problem there for a while, is drainage. We had rain Tuesday and Wednesday, and there were many fairways that had standing water on them. So I would recommend this course if it has not rained in a week, other than that, expect cart path only and some sloppy fairways.
Reedy Creek Golf Course

Harry L. Jones Sr. Golf Course
Played On 8/24/2013Nice Layout - Hidden greens from tee box
Lots of hidden greens from the Tee box, and since this was my first time at the course it made for an interesting round. I think they have bermuda grass just off the fairways, it will hide your ball, almost have to step on it to find a ball a couple of feet off the fairway. Very nice layout though.
Crossings at Grove Park, The
Played On 8/17/2012Greens are nice and course has interesting layout
I like playing the Crossings, the greens are always in great shape, and it has a nice layout. Some boxes are blind, but once you play the course the first time those blind shots become a decision point. Very interesting course to play.
