Was our second time playing this course, but first time was years ago. The course is laid out to be challenging for all players. The greens are in great shape. There were only 2 negatives. First, it was a nice Sunday in October, so the course was busy and pace was slow. Second, the restaurant was closed. Hopefully the course can find someone to come in and run a restaurant there.

Was our first time playing this course. One of us is a mid-handicapper and other has high handicap. Course was challenging for both of us. Water comes into play a lot, especially when we were aggressive with our shot selections. Course is well maintained, pace of play was really good, and staff friendly. Highly recommend this course.

Not many courses please everyone in our foursome because of our wide range of handicaps. Too many courses are boring for one with a low handicap or are too challenging for those with a high handicap or new to golf. But River Run works for everyone in our group. Our lowest handicapper enjoys the many opportunities ”to go for it” (whether they make it or not) and our highest handicapper enjoys not losing too many balls (and usually doesn’t here) . The staff are friendly, there is ample parking, and the location is great for those who go to a restaurant or brewery after their round.

The 2 of us enjoyed our round. We like the layout of this course. It plays well for those with high and low handicaps. After our round we went into the clubhouse for drinks, food and watch football. The staff is pleasant and we recommend this course.

Have played this course many times. Nice to see that fairways and greens are improving.

Love the challenges of this course it offers for multi-handicap group. Playing here requires one to be smarter in club selection and working the shot than many other area courses.

We play this course when we are and after we have worked on our short game. It is a great course for working shots onto the green.

Two of us played with purpose of focusing on short game and we got what we wanted. Easy access from I-75.

River Run is a fine choice for 2 to 4 golfers of various abilities. It does not punish new golfers or high handicappers such that they turn away from the game. At same time, it offers enough for the good golfer. We also love the location. If we can't get a beer after 18 there, we are close local breweries.

Played on a Sunday morning. Pace of play was great. Course challenges all levels. Only negative was condition of some bunkers that were caving in in places.

This was the second time our foursome went to The Claw. Although the course could use some TLC (like more grass on the greens and more level tee boxes), its biggest assets are its challenges to be smart about course management, especially the back nine. The price was paid was awesome and the weather was great. The staff was friendly and the pace of play ideal.

We play this course at least once a year when we are in New England for our annual vacation. The course was in great condition and the pace of play was as good as it gets. We are both intermediate golfers and love the challenges of the course.

The 2 of us (both intermediate players) enjoy playing this course. It has enough ease and challenges that we can always make it interesting. This particular day was no different. Although we had a 1:46 pm tee time, we were able to play all 18 holes.

We have played The Highlands before. Again, it was fun to play, course was well maintained, and pace of play was great. Given all of the summer rain we have had and the rain the day before we played, the course must drain well. We would play this course again.

Fun course to play and great for those who want to work on their short game, while still having the opportunity to drive onto the green on the par 4s.

This is a challenge for those who have not played this course , because on some holes you cannot see your landing area,also on some holes there is water that narrows the fairway landing area. Overall this course is in good condition and the staff members friendly. I would recommend playing this course.

We play MIsty Creek three to five times a year and mostly in the late spring to early fall when the prices drop. It is a nice course that can be a good challenge for golfers at all levels. The day we played the staff was friendly and we had no one playing in front of us to slow us down, so we were done in 4 hours (and that included a stop in the clubhouse between the front and back nine). The course shows average maintenance, although there was one fairway that was losing an area of its grass. The course takes golfers into the woods where it is not uncommon to see deer.

We have played this course frequently in the past three to four years ago,and now all of the fairways and some tee boxes are in need of some serious maintainance. Now we may only play this course once or maybe twice a year.

When I saw 4 out of 5 stars for a "championship course," I expected much more for the money. How it's a "championship course" is questionable, unless one say's, "But there is a club championship." It wasn't hard to imagine that the developer and/or home owner's association may be giving financial incentives for local home owners and their friends to give 4 or 5 stars to this course. Yes, there is water that comes into play on almost all of the holes, but if you hit short and straight, there's isn't much a challenge. The yardage is short. There were mixes of grass on many of the greens. Frankly, we could have spent the same amount of money playing at a course closer to home that has more yardage and a more challenging design.
