Dump of a course with even worse customer service.

If you want to play one of the most forced, wonky and weird layouts in all of the valley then this short course is right up your alley.

Inconsistent green speeds/holding shots leave you with a goofy golf experience. Do you love standing water in the fairways in 100 degree heat?? Again, this place is for you. Fairways are either dead, dying, or soaked with water.

How do you like your oatmeal? Thick and chunky or thin and watery??? If you like both then your love Rancho's sand traps! There is no in between, either a ton of sand or thin and non existent.

The best part of the experience is that they had the first 8 sets of tee boxes closed, except for the reds. It's bad enough to play the weird target layout, then you're forced to play all par 4's less than 280 yards and a par 5 at 393, just a fantastic experience.

Crap happens, we understand that maintenance is needed, but it was how it was handled that irked our group. No warning when booking the course. Get to the course and pay, the two yahoo's in the pro shop didn't mention it before or after paying full price for an already overinflated green fee. The starter called us up and told at that point. Essentially the course has you bent over, juts shady AF. I personally wouldn't have played the garbage layout in the first place but friends had came into town and had already booked it. Just a warning to others.

What happened to the course? This is now the 2nd time in as many years they have lost the grass. How has the superintendent not been fired. Course is in garbage condition. What a waste of a good layout. What’s worse is that they continue to charge full price. You couldn’t pay me to play this dump right now .

The greens were so bad. Rough, bumpy and patchy. It's as if they were diseased, the geese ate them or they never fertilized them. What's sad is just over a month or so ago they were in fantastic shape, best shape Great Eagle had been in years.

Looks like it's back to the Not So Great Eagle we all know and loathe...

Pretty much you're average no frills Sun City course. Staff at this particular course are not golf professionals, so don't expect that, typical SC retiree behind the counters.

Course itself is in decent shape for the summer. Pace of play for the round was 2.25 hours, one of the advantages of the SC courses during the summer, usually always wide open.

Good place to go and work on your game during a summer afternoon.

Over all the course is in good condition. Only complaint were that greens are pretty slow right now, at least in the morning. Lush fairways and tee boxes. Sand is very good throughout all the bunkers, very consistent.

Nice challenging layout, don't let the short yardage fool you.

A few of the fairways either had diseased or dead grass, most noticeable in front of #18.

Greens are recovering from being punched a few weeks ago, back 9 are much smoother than the front, the front being pretty bumpy.

Pretty much in average condition for summer conditions right now. Have played this course multiple times and can tell you that during the winter and spring it's aways in great shape.

Awesome that Falcon Dunes is now open to the public.

Just an awesome course, great conditions tee to green with the exception of the bunkers, bunkers are in terrible shape, fairway and green side bunkers all very shallow and filled with rocks. A blemish on an otherwise almost perfect course. I did see the green side bunker at 17 that had actual, real sand in it, so maybe they are beginning to redo them. They may have had others redone but this was the only one I noticed.

Other issue was the pace, 5 hour round, the marshal was more concerned about carts in the rough, the enforcing the pace of play. There should never be 2 holes open in front of any group, this was reported from course staff during the round, why not enforce the pace?

Other than the couple things above the course is always worth the drive.

Key to beating the slow pace is getting of early or late, course always seems to log jam with the middle of the day tee times.

Always in good shape. Staff is always friendly. Front nine layout is, eh... Back nine layout is one of the best of all the retirement and muni courses on the westside.

1 star rating based on conditions. Word from the staff was weed killer was inadvertently introduced into the irrigation system and poisoned the entire course. Imagine fairways in the middle of an Arizona winter that should be lush, full and green, now imagine the opposite, brown, thin and muddy. Again fairways were absolute garbage, yet somehow the greens, using that term lightly, the putting surfaces, managed to be worse than the fairways. They are nothing but brown, dormant, sanded, flattened bermuda grass surfaces. I understand that stuff happens and this is horrible for the course, but how can the course still charge full price for these terrible conditions? Have been playing here for the last few years and have never seen the course in this condition. Hopefully the course recovers. More importantly I hope the course can inform the public before booking that the course is in poor shape or lower the price due to poor conditions.

Coyote Lakes has had some condition issues in the past. Majority of the issues being the greens. They have improved greatly since I last played there before the over seed. While not exactly rolling true and perfect by any means they are in good shape, actually great shape compared to what they have been in the past. Staff is always pleasant here. Pace was great, got around in 4 hours, got off at by 730. One thing I have noticed is that any tee time after 9am the pace just absolutely drags. I recommend Coyote Lakes right now, a good value in the always over priced winter season in AZ.

Awesome layout with overall good conditions. A few issues noted due to some recent monsoons. A lot of debris in a few of the fairways, some washed out bunkers, and overall wet conditions in the fairways. Shouldn't be a problem for long as there were plenty of crews out working taking care of the storm cleanup.

Greens were challenging for sure, a lot of break. Quite a few bumpy putts unfortunately, speed was consistent though. Average greens right now.

Again a great layout in my opinion, not long at all but defiantly a challenge. Good customer service displayed by all staff. Will be back for sure!

Awesome pace of play as well, wrapped up in 3 hours teeing off at 7.

One of the best layouts of all the Sun City Grand courses. From tee to green it's in awesome shape. Fairways are nice and lush, and greens are receptive, fast and rolling true. Customer service was awesome. For 21 with a drink and hotdog it's hands down a great value.

One of the best values on the west side of town. In good shape right now. Greens are rolling fast, true and holding shots. There are a few greens with some burnt grass, or maybe lack of water but over all in good condition.

Staff is awesome as always,very friendly as usual.

It's that time of the year where winter visitors are leaving and the courses are opening up and rounds are getting faster and faster, this includes UHCC, got around in 3 hours, could have been even quicker but hit a "few" practice shots as well.

Course was in fantastic shape with some pretty challenging pin locations as they had the men's club championship that morning. Pace was a little slow on the front, no marshals on the course, almost 2.5 hour front. Cleared up on the back and whipped around the course. Always a good experience here with a challenging course.

Some of the best greens I have putted on in a while. Fast and rolling true. I don't remember seeing a ball have a wayward bounce all day, very smooth.

LPGA tourney going on so no Marshall's on the 2 nines that were open(Faldo and Palmer fronts) so the pace was slow, close to 4.75 hours.

An awesome experience, played Monument.Just a couple minor issues, bags were delayed in getting to us after we dropped them off at the bag drop. All other aspects of customer service was excellent. Greens were a little sketchy due to ball marks, not sure if people jut don't know how to repair their ball marks or what but there were a ton out there, not something you'd expect with Troon North. Pace of play was awesome, teed off at 1030 and could have finished in three hours but had to slow it down in order soak it in. Never saw a group behind us and only had to wait once for just a couple minutes on a short reachable par 4 on the back side.

Coyote Lakes has been in rough shape the last few years, especially the greens. It has been a few months since I have been out and was pleasantly surprised. Overall it's in good condition, a couple greens had some issues with patches of dead grass but most were in good shape. Pace of play has been a killer in the past as well. Got done in 3:50 on a full tee sheet which was really nice. So it's getting better and worth a try if you can get a decent rate, got a hot deal for 31, defiantly worth it at that price, however I would not pay the regular rate of 50 they were asking.

Course is in good shape. Just be aware that this is a no frills Sun City muni course.

If you want to become a better putter come here, challenging greens are the norm. Be below the hole!!

Major issue with this and most SC courses are the people that work in the pro shops/starters. While they are very nice people they just don't have much experience in the golf industry and it shows. Allowing 5somes in front 3somes off the first tee is just a recipe for disaster.

Since this is a muni course the 5somes usually have zero golf etiquette and have no clue about the back up they have created.

Good conditions, challenging greens, poor course management which leads to horrible pace of play.

Just a great experience as always. From the time you drop off your bag until you finish up its a great experience. Their customer service is unbeatable. Food is absolutely awesome, including fresh baked goods with whatever you order.

The course is in fantastic shape, lush green fairways, very fast and very true greens right now. One of my favorite course in the "Phoenix Area"', about a 45 minute drive from NW Peoria but well worth it.

Greens are a mess right now. Patchy, bumpy bare in certain spots. All bunkers are hard pan right now. Pace of play was horrid quit after 12 holes at 4.5 hours. Carts died on holes 2 and 4. Staff was friendly as always. Customer service good. Just beware of the very poor course conditions and horrible slow play.
