Always enjoy playing here. There are some memorable very well designed holes with sloping greens and unusual elevation changes, with well protected greens and demanding shots. The course was in excellent shape. Worth a detour

No need to improve your lie anywhere here as course was in very good condition.
Greens roll well without major slopes. Layout is simple without a ton of hazards and demanding shots.
Overall solid but not exciting.

Between a 3 hour frost delay when temperatures were in the mid fourties (?) and above and some very slow play where we had to call the pro shop to get a ranger on the course (4 groups on 1 par three), the pace of play made for a 5 hour round.
Nonetheless, the layout is interesting and fun, the fairways in very good shape and hard and fast, and the greens large and with a few interesting breaks and very smooth.
When the new driving range and practice area open next year, this will be a great place to play if they keep the price as reasonable as it is now (right now there is only a small practice net) and they pay more attention to the pace of play.

Second time playing here. Weather was cold and windy. Course is less well groomed than some in the area and has a more municipal feel to it but is ok to play. Layout is nice, greens slow.

This course ranks among my favorites in Florida. Probably should keep it a secret though because it’s a gem!
Interesting, fun, fair, in great shape. Memorable and reasonably priced.

This course features rolling hills, wide fairways, occasional forced carries from the back tees, some water hazards and a few well placed bunkers. Condition of fairways, rough and bunkers is excellent. Greens were extremely quick with some rather wicked undulations.
Overall a pleasure to play and certainly less difficult than the neighboring Hills course at LPGA unless the wind blows hard since there are not many trees here.

Very treacherous course with hidden hazards, very narrow fairways with hazards left and right, mostly water...but certainly in good shape and quite scenic. Not a course for the average player though. It’s just too demanding and hard.
More than reasonable price, but you can add the cost of several sleeves of balls to the average green fee! If I had to play here often I would need to be a better golfer!

Can’t remember losing this many balls in one day! You really need the floating range balls they have here...
Some of the holes have water that you don’t readily see so pay attention to the map before you play the hole!
The course is in relatively poor shape compared to others in the area, but the greens are receptive to good shots.
Good golf will be rewarded but misses punished severely. The layout is certainly decent but not very scenic.
You get a muni neglected feel playing here, but it’s inexpensive.
We went to see the rocket launch while enjoying golf, and it a pretty decent spot to get a view of that. Overall, not too bad.

Second time playing here in last month. Course is very pretty with good layout and many well placed water hazards and is very fair. This time the greens were hard and unreceptive and did not roll particularly well, but this still is a 4 star venue and has a nicer design than some of the clubs nearby in St. John’s county...

Straightforward and fun to play. Well organized staff. Friendly. Very fair and nice layout. Greens were very very fast and fun and fair without any crazy slopes.
Will definitely put this on the courses to play list!

Although one has to admit that this course may be to some people’s liking, it was not user friendly for us. Between blind shots, hazards that are not visible, extremely small landing areas, undulating fairways where you can hit it in the middle and roll into a hazard or have a random downhill lie, it really wasn’t much fun to play.

Very pleasant experience here. Met a couple of friendly guys and enjoyed our round. The course layout is very nice, course conditions decent, greens fair. It has a muni feel but a good design. Single engine aircraft fly by at times and there is a quaint rickety bridge you drive over a busy road...entertaining.
It even boasts a near 600 yard par 5 hole, the signature 8 th and a decent clubhouse and bar.
Worth a trip.

There are 3 courses located right next to one another in St. John’s county, the golf club at South Hampton being one of the three.
This is a mark macumber designed course with wide open fairways and landing areas, but many strategically placed bunkers. It is esthetically not spectacular, especially with the dormant Bermuda in February, but has extremely fast manicured greens that are quite challenging and roll beautifully. There is some water but it did not seem to come into play very often. Many of the holes are well bunkered.
Cimarrone golf course across the street is also very nice and has a great layout with water on every hole.
Never played at nearby St. John’s, but heard it was very nice as well.

This is a fun fair and nicely designed course.
The greens are a bit tricked up in that the slopes are severe and very punitive, perhaps a bit too much for the average player.
Wouldn’t hesitate to go back here for the money.

We played here on a cold windy day and the course was empty. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pro shop and clubhouse are surprisingly nice. The course layout and design are excellent. The greens are large, undulating and true.
In short, this was a delightful surprise find at a reasonable price!
Definitely worth playing.

Poor design, very wet and not as well maintained as other courses in the area. Not scenic. Difficult to find where the holes are due to lack of signs.
Only saving grace was that it was inexpensive.

Well designed somewhat tight course with a tee box for all abilities. Greens are true and were medium fast and undulating. Very well maintained. Staff friendly. Yardage well marked. Plenty of sand and water to catch errant shots, but fair.
Rates after 11 am are reasonable and fair. Definitely worth it if you can get a hot deal on golf now.
Marginally cheaper for locals.

We played the Hills course from the forward tees (senior golfer, hdcp index 13) and it was still a challenge. The layout is interesting and there are some forced carries, well place water hazards, bunkers and hills. Fairways are generous, greens fast and undulating even though course was soaked from 5 inches of rain.
A bit pricey at the regular rate, but worth a trip if you can get a discounted rate.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Very demanding course depending on the tees you play with hazards on almost every hole requiring accuracy or bring a lot of golf balls...
Conditions are fair but not great through the green. Greens are not flat and are difficult to putt especially if you are on the wrong side of the hole, but they are in decent shape.
Have played here three times this year and certainly find the course challenging but fair and worth a ride.
