The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club
Played On 02/17/2022Needs Grass & better sand
Tee boxes need grass, teeing up in dirt!! I know that grass is dormant this time of year but these tee boxes don't have enough grass to grow even in warm weather. Also the sand is like ground up clay and full of small rocks. Fairways & greens were in good shape.

Course was in good condition and greens were in excellent condition. I’m somewhat confused as to why on this day the course was empty, our 4some played 18 holes and never saw another golfer the entire day. Such a nice layout to not get more play.
Played the 6400 yard tees because only other lower option was 5800 yards, need another option of 6000 yards.

Greens damaged and stressed from the heat and not very smooth & full of I repaired balls marks.
Cart paths are horrible, for example on a typical hole you get 300 feet of very bumpy cart path, then 250 feet dirt & gravel, then more cart path. It's like that on almost every hole.
Won't be going back at any price.

My first round at this course. Facilities and course are first class. The course is in great winter condition. Largest sand traps I have experienced so beware and stay clear of them. My round was cart path only what a bummer, can't wait to play again but under dry conditions.
Country Club of Whispering Pines - Pines Course

Pines course in good condition and dry which was surprising considering all the rain in the area. Fairways were great and no tight lies due to the lush rye grass. My problem is the course layout, there is no access to the clubhouse after finishing hole 9. My partner needed a beverage and snack so we were guided back to the clubhouse by some lady members. Needless to say what a trip through the woods and down a 2 lane road good thing our cart had a good battery. When we finally reached the club house no food and very limited snack selection. This round trip took around 45 minutes. If you play this course bring your own beverage and food!

Nice layout, course and greens in good condition, over seeded fairways a big plus.
