Great conditions, slowwww AF

Greens are excellent, rest of the course is in good shape.
Pace of play continues to be an issue - 5 hours to play... Again. It's become a once or twice a year course due to pace rather than a "must play regularly" place.

Outstanding Conditions

Course is in fantastic shape. Lush everywhere (over seeded to perfection), greens in great shape and rolling well.
Only criticism is that the restaurant and bar has been closed since last June, so nowhere to eat on property post round

A Must Skip

Unfortuantely, nothing redeeming to write about.
Fairways are awful, no grass and pan hard. Greens are worse - covered in crab grass that make most putts look like you're playing pinball. Bunkers bad, tee boxes bad. There isn't a price point that makes this worth playing.

On It's Way Back!

Great to see the new owners putting in the effort to restore this course. It's in decent shape, though you need to stay in the fairways. If you get a little wide, current conditions make it extra penal.
Greens are good, though slow. Range and practice area should be solid in about another month (Top Tracer range currently being installed).
Clubhouse is still one of the great features of this course, with arguably one of the best bars of all Central Florida golf courses.

Pace of Play Issues... Still!

Course is in ok shape - starting to see the results of the recent investment.

Great Condition

Course is in great shape. Greens aren't as quick as usual, but roll great. Fairways are fantastic. Everything is well maintained, as always.
Staff are always on point and the food is fantastic. Pricey pro-shop, but well stocked with great choices.
Most of the layout is still great, but the construction has affected several holes. Will be great so see it once everything is done and the course returns to "normal".

Slower than slow - again!

How does the saying go? Fool me 3 times?!!
Having left after a 3 hour front nine the time before last, then ploughing through a 5.5 hour round last time out, I was certain I wouldn't come back...however, the lure of the apparent "excellent conditions" following the PGA show and injection of cash for the upcoming LIV event was just too great to pass up. Very underwhelmed indeed!!
The course is no different from it's normal conditions here - still good, but nothing that looks or feels like it's on the verge of hosting a pro event.
For a 3rd time running though, my round was >5 hours - it's almost comical at this point - and that was with a ranger on course that said 3x he was moving groups along - not the case!
For sure, I won't be back. This facility is best left for the out of towners that they clearly know they don't need to cater to.

The pace of play is woeful! Last 4 rounds there (2 at each track) have all been at or >5hrs. One of those, we left after 9 holes, having taken 3hrs to complete the front 9

Very Poor

Just not in good shape. Tee boxes are chewed up, fairways are bare at best, complete dirt at worst. Anything off the fairway or around the green is worse.
Greens are in good shape, which is the hook for some players, but everything between tee and green is just not how golf should be.
It's a real shame as the layout here is fantastic. So much potential if someone were prepared to invest the proper funds to bring this place back up to scratch. As it stands, I wouldn't play here again even if were offered to be free of charge.

Central Florida gem!

It's a fair drive to get to this facility, but 100% worth it.
Course has a great layout and great vistas everywhere. Water on 16 of 18 holes - for the keen observer, it's all on the right on the front 9, then all left on the back.
Well maintained. Greens were a touch on the slow side when we played, mainly down to preservation after Hurricane Ian had fun through. Will definitely be back and can't wait to see this place with some slicker greens.
An absolute must play!

Disappointing

It would appear that all the time and effort is going in to El Campeon, considering they just hosted an Epsom Tour event. I'd be curious to know if they used the same range, as the main range is (and always has been!) in terrible condition.
Practice green was amazing, and safe to say, everyone was looking forward to getting out there if those conditions were anything to go by - they weren't!
As soon as we arrived at the first green, it was evident that the practice area must only be reflective of El Campeon. The Las Colinas greens were slow, bumpy and not rolling well at all.
It progressed downhill from there. Rough tee boxes, rough fairways, awful off the fairway and the icing on the cake, swarms of mosquitos, especially rounding 5, 6 & 7 - bring bug spray!
Construction is wreaking havoc and it's not subtle. #8 is gone, with no re-routing, so just a massive drive from 7 to (old #9) 8. The back continues to spiral downward, with a par 5 chopped to 250 yards!
Pace of play was good at first as the course was open. When we did finally catch the group in front of us, it was evident that none of them had really played much golf. Given we had a group of 25, we couldn't play through them (not that they ever offered) and the ranger, who passed them 3x did nothing! We backed up to 3 groups on a tee box before we had to ask the beverage cart girl to intervene and call the clubhouse - should not have come to that!
The kicker at the end of the day is the restaurant and bar that is way, wayyyy over priced!
Until all the construction is completed on this side, I would highly recommend staying away for now!

Needs Attention

Normally high on a list of courses I enjoy playing, the conditions were just too poor to really enjoy this round.
Tee boxes are poor - more dirt than grass on most, and that's even with the boxes moved from their traditional placement.
Far too many fairways in poor to downright shoddy condition. Greens LOOK good, but were rolling slower than anywhere in central Florida, and just a little slow either, REALLY slow.
18 green, while looking fun (replica of Sawgrass #17) Is too gimmicky. Not receptive enough to reward a good tee shot.

Rarely Disappoints

This is a fun track to play and it always in good shape. Only peripheral areas of the course were in any real need of maintenance. Fairways and tee boxes were good, greens were excellent - well maintained and rolling well.

We had a pace of play gripe, due to being stuck behind a 3-ball that were "playing golf for the first time". Upside - they stopped after 9! Even with them departing after 9 holes, this led to a 5 hour round. We addressed this with a ranger at hole 3, no real help in moving the group along or playing through - the only real blemish on an otherwise good day. All the courses at Reunion are fantastic and easily on any players "must play" list for Orlando.

A Few Must Play Holes

As most have heard, there are a few must play holes on the back 9 of this track. Extremely unique for Florida! The rest of the course is ok, but the wow factor belongs to 12, 13 & 17, which take full advantage of the old quarry upon which this course is built. The rest of the challenge here lies in how tight the fairways look from the tee box - almost every hole is tree lined and getting off line will punish you quickly. Greens were decent, rolling ok with plenty of undulation and surrounding hills to make for a lot of fun putts. Rolled a little smoother would have been a plus, they were a tad on the slow side.
We drove from Orlando to play. It's a long ride, and for the first time seeing them, worth it to play 12,13 and 17. Would I drive there again? Not likely - the rest of the course doesn't hold enough uniqueness or beauty to justify going back out there

Pace of Play Gremlins Return

Still a must play location for Central Florida. Course is in great shape. Pace of play continues to be an issue here though.
The day we played, they had a shotgun tournament in the morning, which started late and moved at a woeful pace. Overall poor management on the part of the course. After starting 15 minutes late, the pace issues continued. Every tee box had at least 1 group on it, sometimes 2. It took us calling the proshop after 5 holes before a ranger was put out!! After a 3 hour front 9, we packed it in!

Local Favorite

OCN is always a good day out. Course is in good shape - greens not at their greatest, summer maintenance n all. Fairways are overall good, we noticed some tough grass roots growing in some. 2nd round here in as many weeks and both times the golf cart was struggling for power. Absolutely lucked out for a Friday with not a soul in sight ahead of us. 2-ball finished in 3:20!

Never Disappoints

This course is always in good shape, but right now, it's in excellent condition. The greens are flawless and the fairways are manicured.
Round time was good, but the pace was poor. By the back 9, we were waiting on every tee box, often for a group ahead still on the same box.
The restaurant / bar is permanently closed. There was a beverage cart on the course, we saw it twice.
Warm up facilities are great, plenty of water to be found, consider packing extra balls!

Stay Away!!

This once great course (as seen in the 20 year old photos!!) is a lost cause. Driven in to the ground by so many past management companies, each with the promise of restoring it to it's once "must play" status in Orlando, this was the last time we "gave MW another try".
The place is a goat track. Tee boxes are shambolic, fairways are disastrous and the greens are bumpier than a 747 landing in a storm!!
Definitely the last time playing here
