Old Hickory Golf Club
Played On 07/23/2021Top 200 Course
Played in an interclub match here today. The hospitality was great and the club met all my expectations.
The course was in great shape and somewhat challenging due to the number of angled holes. Without GPS or a caddie, the course would be extremely difficult to get around.
I can't wait to play this track again.
Buffalo Ridge Springs Golf Course
Played On 10/04/2016Watch out for Buffalos
This was my 1st time playing since Bass Pro/Big Cedar had taken over the course. They have turned it into a Outdoorsmans golf resort. The details are fantastic. There are numerous covered bridges blended into the rolling hills of Southwest Missouri. I didn't see them but I hear there are buffalo roaming on the range :-)
Today the wind was gusting up to 20 mph so the course [from the tips] played very difficult but I managed to post a 77 thanks to a hole out and my trusty Swing by Swing GPS app.
The daily rate during the week is going to be close to $150 but I played at the Fall rate of $65... it's well worth the play at that rate... or even at $150.
Go check it out.
Note: this is an un-walkable course :-(
Lick Creek Golf Course
Played On 07/16/2014Grass Roots Golf
Great neighborhood muni. Fairway landing zones were a little beat up... looked like there may have been a big outing here over the weekend. The greens were smooth and deceivingly fast. Membership could do a better job of repairing their ball marks on the green. There were a number of holes were positioning off the tee was very important. If you are in the trees looking for your ball watch out for poison ivy, it was everywhere.
Great course to walk.
Overall it was a great day. When it's 72* in July in this area, you find a course and tee it up.
