Must Be Avoided

I had played Brandywine Bay a year or two ago. At that time, it was in pretty good condition. What a difference a year or two makes.
The Pro Shop staff was quite pleasant and friendly. We went to the driving range to find a field with a "hitting area" that was over grown with weeds. It hadn't been mowed in some time and was difficult to find any area where one could even hit balls from. That should have been our first clue.
I found the entire course to be in fair to poor condition. Most tee boxes were "OK" but the fairways were covered with weeds, hadn't been mowed in awhile and it was difficult to even define the fairway boundaries. The bunkers were mostly hard pan and not in good shape.
The greens had also not been mowed in awhile and were quite slow. Of greater concern were the bald spots and diseased turf on many of the greens, especially on the back nine. Several holes actually had grass growing all around the hole and had not been changed in a long time.
The basic course layout is interesting and even fun but the current management has let this course deteriorate into one that should be avoided at all cost. To ask for a $64.00 green fee at Brandywine Bay is ridiculous at best. Shame on us for playing it.
Our group enjoyed a cold beer at the 19th hole and all toasted the fact that we would NEVER return to this facility.

Don't Believe What You Read

After reading some of the recent reviews for Falcon's Fire, I was hesitant to play the course. I decided to go ahead and play based on the recommendation of a PGA friend who had just played it the same week. I'm so glad that I did.
First of all, the staff were all friendly and quite professional; from the bag attendants, Pro Shop staff and the Starter. I found the practice area; driving range, chipping green and putting green were all in good to excellent condition.
Falcon's Fire does have some damage on greens # 2 and 3 and a couple of other small patches on two other greens. No question about it and the staff is well aware of those "issues". Beyond that, the course: tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and rough are all in good to excellent condition. The pace of play was good with right at a 4 hour round.
The areas that were damaged on greens # 2 and 3, have been repaired and frankly, had little to no effect on the play for the day.
Falcon's Fire is about average in price for the Orlando area for February (2022); however, the course is a challenge and worth the money. If you believe some of the reviews and don't play the course, you'll miss a great opportunity for an enjoyable round of golf.

Always On Top of My List

Everything about the Celebration Golf Club is "Top Shelf".
The staff, from the bag boys, Pro Shop staff, Starter and Ranger were all friendly and quite professional. The course was in excellent condition and the greens were rolled true although a "tad slow".
The overall pace of play was good (4+11) to play 18 holes and we didn't wait on the group in front of us once.
Celebration is somewhat "pricey" but for an exceptional experience in the Orlando Florida area in February, it's worth the price. Incidentally, lunch was included, which was very good. The Windmill restaurant was worth the visit.

Slow Pace of Play, Beautiful Conditions

The staff was quite friendly and attentive. The driving range and practice facilities were quite nice.
The course was in good condition. The bunkers were all in excellent shape. We found the greens in good condition and putts rolled smoothly. Most found the speed was slow.
The only drawback was the pace of play. Well over 4+35 to play 18 holes and we waited on a number of holes for the groups in front of us.
