Kissimmee Bay Country Club
Played On 12/12/2022A nice place to spend the day
Sometimes, there is nothing better than a nice challenging course with little traffic. I came here on a Monday, off hours. The course was in decent shape. The tee, fairways and green were in good shape. The rough, at places, was a bit dry and you needed to move the ball.
But the layout was pretty and the holes were interesting, especially the 9th. Once you know the course, you will score well. It's a nice way to spend the day.
Falcon's Fire Golf Club
Played On 12/10/2022Above Average Course but avoid on weekends
I got that and the staff were friendly. The practice facility was in good shape and I was able to prepare for the round. The course was in good shape. The greens was fast, and in good condition (except for one hole in the front. There was one notable patchy area in which I had to move my ball for putting). The other minor complaint is that some of the water in the lake is green and dead.) Challenging holes, tough greens and a beautiful view.. Fun day at the course.
If you play here, it's great, but play in the weekday. I had a five hour+ round on Saturday. It wasn't due to slow play, but it's a bit overbooked. Everything else was good. I would play again, but not in tourist season on a weekend.
Newcastle Golf Course
Played On 06/12/2021Nice Old Style Course, good for
I got there pretty early and was struck by it's layout. Pretty friendly staff and starter, I was pleased by the way they treated me all round. The course was in good shape, though I do have to reduce two stars for a few patchy fairways and greens. I loved the trees, view and challenge. The fairway are generous, but the trees will come into play on many holes. if you hit a good shot, you will score well, but a mishap will cost you. It's a course I would enjoy playing match-play. I will go again.
Deer Creek South Course - Sapphire
Played On 09/11/2020Nice Course to work on your game
The South course is the secondary course for newer golfers. It is in great shape, with good greens and fairways. The signage is decent, even though for some holes, a yardage marker to course hazards would be useful. It's a nice place to work on your game. All clubs are needed.
Bushwood Golf Club
Played On 08/01/2017Decent course, great place to work on your game
Bushwood is a decent course, a nice place to play a quick round. It's a medium level course with only a few tight holes. Not too long and the green rolls fairly true.
I played it in the afternoon. Wheezed through the first nine in a hour and a half. Back 9 slowed down as I caught up to the other groups.
Not a memorable course, but a course that you can enjoy with friends and work on the various part of your game.
Lakeridge Links Golf Course
Played On 07/19/2014Fair value and test for the money
Lakeridge Links might be the best full-length golf course of the Bruce's Golf series of course. The scenery is beautiful and shows up the Oak Ridge ravine to it's full effect. It's an fairly open course, with only a few holes demanding accurate tee shots. The greens are somewhat tricky but slow. They do stay true and consistent from green to green, though.
The pro shop was friendly and booking was very easy to do. I would definitely recommend giving this course a try.
