Wellshire Golf Course

Played On 10/25/2020Great Course!
First frost delay I have had to worry about in years, but the starter and marshals kept the pace moving well and in a friendly way. We were only behind about 20 mins off of our original tee time.
The first time playing the course and the driving range was packed but still open spots to practice in. Chipping areas and putting green are very true to what to expect on the course. Greens were very fast, which I appreciate.
Tee boxes were in great condition and relatively flat; played off the gold tees which was about 6700 yards. Perfect for a first time introduction to the course. The pin placements and the greens were very challenging and fun. The bunkers were very well placed and played well if you hit one because the staff does a top notch job at the maintenance of the course. You can tell the superintendent really cares about the entire course because I didn't see any areas that were in need of work or repair.
The course is somewhat forgiving but you really need to be on your game to position the ball off the tee. The fairways are great to play off of and it seems that many golfers who play here respect the conditions and replace divots and repair ball marks; it's rare to see that in Denver.
I had a great time with the group I played with and the staff throughout the round and after were very accommodating. Can't say enough how much of a pleasant day of golf it was and I cannot wait to return!

I always enjoy playing at Foothills. It was great to see some familiar faces.
It seemed all of the courses were busy and the staff handled the influx of golfers at check in about as best as they could due to the social distancing rules they have to follow.
The weather was a bit windy but that happens. Course was and almost always is, in excellent shape.
Pace of play was as expected at a little over 4.5 hours. I never care, I enjoy the views on this course.

Having never been to the course there was no signage directing you to the bag drop. (As you enter it is to the right side of the clubhouse building)
Staff in the pro shop, restaurant, player assistants and starters were extremely nice and attentive.
While it is the off season, the practice range was still open for hitting off of turf. The course was dormant which made it cart path only. We were still able to get a round in a little over 4 hours, but were rushed by the group behind while trying not to run it up on the group in front.
Before making the turn we were able to call the clubhouse and place a food and beverage order prior to making the turn. This convenience made the stop about 2-3 minutes versus a lot longer on some some courses.
This course has many wide open spots, but don't be fooled, you need to play a tight game to not end up in one of the sand traps. Also, there are a lot of homes built near the course, but for the most part they are out of range. The water holes on the back nine were fun and the 18th gives you a make or break option off of the tee. The course was fairly challenging even with no growth on the course. The pin placements were in reasonable spots, and there were no gimmicky greens.
I cannot wait to try this course again in the spring thru fall. It will most likely be a bigger challenge than the off season conditions, but will probably be a more pleasant on course experience now that I know how I personally need to play the course.
The prices are reasonable in the clubhouse for food and beverage and the pro shop also was pretty fair.
The mountain views on the course and from the clubhouse are amazing.
While it is a bit of a drive from downtown Denver, it only took about 30 minutes in Sunday traffic.
Definitely am looking forward to a return outing!
Broken Tee Englewood - Par-3 Course
Played On 11/18/2019Short, But Challenging Course
This was my second time to play this course. The first time was about a year+ ago. The course is a fairly open design with strategically placed hazards and quick, well maintained greens. The course has many risk/reward holes and this time of year, the fairways let your ball run out pretty well. The only drawback we had was 8 minutes between tee times, which pushed us for the first 3 holes until we could distance ourselves from the group behind us. All of our group are decent golfers and we kept a pretty good pace to play a 4 hour 5 minute round, which can be rare in Denver sometimes. One quick note, the practice green is a very good indication of what you will see on the course. The pin placements are somewhat challenging on many holes. One of the rare courses in Denver you can actually play the greens fairly true to the read. Being a Monday the course was busy but not stacked. Looking forward to playing this course again, the practice facilities and course are in great shape.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review and great insights. We all work to help ensure our guests have the best possible experiences. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.
Raccoon Creek Golf Course
Played On 07/24/2017Challenging Course, Slow Pace
I love this course because every hole is a good challenge and club selection is very key. The past few times I have been, there has been a slower pace of play. This is a course where you really need to be honest with yourself and your game before you walk up to the blue or black tees. Load up on beverages before you tee off because the beverage cart is rarely seen. Practice facilities are some of the best.
Thank you for visiting us at Todd Creek Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
