Grey Hawk Golf Club
Played On 06/02/2018Huge Improvements
The course is in the best condition since it opened. The owners have done a great job correcting the bare spots that plagued the fairways and their adjacent mounds in the past.
One negative: Halfway food/beverage window was closed making it slightly inconvenient to purchase food and beverage at the turn.
Rawiga Golf Club
Played On 08/02/2014Hidden Gem
Rawiga is an outstanding course that appears to get little play probablyy due to its location. The overall shape of the course was great, fairways-greens-roughs. With mature tree lined fairways, hilly layout and challenging greens this course truly is a hidden gem.
Limited tables and chairs outside the clubhouse to enjoy a post round cigar. Extra room in picnic table lined pavilion and large deck at fron of cluhouse.
Sleepy Hollow Golf Course
Played On 04/26/2014Fast Greens
Basics: I golfed in a 4-some. Length of round was 4 hours. Weather was sunny and low 50's, STRONG wind. Match was 2 man scramble match play (thankfully).
Observations: Greens were super-fast, especially downhill putts. Windy day made some holes difficult to decide on correct club. Course played very challenging but fair. Not for beginning golfers. Greens and fairways in good shape. Staff was very friendly. Overall a very good experience and the hot deal made the round outstanding.
Cigar Notes: Small patio facing #18/#9 greens and #1/#9 tees with a few tables/chairs good for smoking a stogie and enjoying a beverage. Nice vista beyond #1 fairway. Cigars are sold inside at the food/beverage counter.
Big Met Golf Course
Played On 6/22/2013Excellent value for the golfnow discount price.
For all the play this course gets it's in remarkably good shape and it's fun to play. It's not a long course but there are plenty of places to get in trouble. Almost all fairways are tree lined. There are bunkers and water hazards to avoid. The greens play slower than most courses but they're not in bad shape. A valuable feature to this course is that it's located close by near the border of Cleveland/Fairview park. The pace of play on this day was roughly 4.5 hours. I give the Metroparks a thumbs up for keeping this fun little gem in splendid shape.
