Windham Golf Course

I enjoyed this course. Most holes can be appreciated from the tees ( few blind shots). Fairways are wide. Greens are good sized but we’re on the slow side. Bunkers were shallow - not penal. Course condition was good. Hole layouts were varied different length, doglegs, some water hazards. A good test for the average golfer.
The Links At Lighthouse Sound
Played On 2/27/2013Great views of Ocean City on an interesting course.
The course was wet the day we played (carts on paths - lots of walking but negating the cart based GPS) from the white tees - a good choice - no roll on shots. Greens rolled true but slower than in season. The first hole (and the adjacent 8th) are ordinary but many of the others are challenging and provide a variety of layouts which require some plan of attack. Our off season rate was great but in season I feel this course, while top notch, is overpriced. Check for the discounted rates on Golfnow.com. Chose the correct tees, bring plenty of balls, and enjoy this bayside beauty.
GlenRiddle Golf Club - War Admiral Course

This is the members course at Glen Riddle. Reasonable landing areas, some long carries off the tee and into several greens (e.g. 9 & 18) over water or marsh. Fairways had been aerated and they have placed a lot of sod near some of the greens. It had rained the day before we played and there was some standing water and some soft areas in the fairways. Lay out is great and will challenge all skill levels depending on the tees you choose. Nice greens and a variety of hole layouts. Less wind exposure on this one. You'll enjoy it.
River Run Golf Course
Played On 12/11/2012This course offers a nice variety of holes
I play this course at least once a year. It has 4 sets of tees and can be challenging depending on which you choose. Despite the flat terrain of the area, the layout provides a variety of holes. Landing areas are mostly generous. The greens were recently airreated but rolled pretty true. Conditions were OK for December - the grass was still green - no Bermuda here. One of the fairways had been recently reseeded - no worries we simply rolled our balls for a reasonable lie. The electric cart (needed and included in the fee since there's a long way between green and tee especially on the back 9) was the fastest I've ever experienced!
Bayside Resort Golf Club
Played On 1/30/2012Challenging Nicklaus course with great views
First time playing this track. In great condition for January. Generous landing areas (mostly) and there's no blind shots but lots of trouble for errant shots (marsh and water). It was very windy the day we played making a lot of the par 4s requiring three shots to reach the green. It's cart path only in the winter negating the value of the cart installed GPS. We still played in 4 hrs. There are some long tee shot carries over marsh or water but doable for all but the shortest hitters. Bring extra balls. Greens ran true with undulation induced breaks that were reasonable to read.
Ocean City Golf Club - Newport Bay
Played On 1/9/2012Nice layout with great water views
This is the better of the Ocean City Country Courses. Reasonable condition for January. Greens were moderate speed, but a lot of unrepaired pitch marks. Not crowded. Played the white tees (6000 yds). Most holes have reasonable landing areas. Several holes require some planing or they can cause high scores.
