Acorns Golf Links
Played On 09/19/2014Nice Course, But!
Acorn Golf Links is a nice layout, with attractive scenery. It is well conditioned, and the greens, although pretty beat up with unfixed ball marks, putt well and are smooth. The one objection I found was the 5+ hour pace of play. If the almost 3 hour front nine as not bad enough, when I made the turn I discovered they had started a new group ahead of us at the 10th hole.
Sugar Creek Golf Course
Played On 12/03/2013Better than sitting home or going Christmas Shopping in large crowds
This course is set upon a piece of ground in the MO Ozarks hills and ravines that is more suitable to raising wild pigs than playing golf upon. It is a collection of unplayable lies and ridiculous pin locations on bumpy greens badly in need of mowing. I may be being a bit harsh with this description, there may be 6 or 7 halfway decent golf holes on the course, but they are not memorable. The green fees are very affordable.
Aberdeen Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2013Interesting course to play with a good layout.
We played the Aberdeen Links course in full sun on a 97 degree day, and sort of missed the possibility of seeking shade. Kudos to the staff, for the water coolers were plentiful and full of ice water. It is a challenging and interesting layout. Zoysia fairways were consistently good. Bunkers were well filled with quality playable sand. The Greens, however, were inconsistent. If all were as good as #9 I would have rated the course much higher.
