Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course

Played On 06/16/2018Horrible greens
I've played this course in the past many times and I've never seen the greens in such terrible condition! I could not believe they charged so much to play on greens like that. I will not be playing this course ever again.

I really enjoyed playing this. The course was in great condition! Some of the greens still need a little work but overall great course. The only thing I recommend they work on is the pace of play. The group that I played with were all good golfers and we kept getting badgered by the Marshall on pace of play. He continued following us around the course reminding us of our pace. This was a surprise to us due to us being 15 minutes ahead of the pace and no one behind us. I am not sure if he was aware of our start time or what his deal was, but it became very annoying to say the least. After the third time he drove around we all became annoyed which started effecting our play. We finished our round at exactly 4 hours with a foursome so I am still not sure why he kept following us. I definately want to play this course again, but if this is the way you treat good paying customers I will go somewhere else.
Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course

This is the only 27 hole course in the area and instead of the management using that to their advantage they don't. It always seems to be backed up! I think the starters should do a better job controlling the tee times. If I have a 8 AM tee time there should not be another group rolling up before we even tee off. This causes friction amongst the customers. Today was the worst there were actually three groups on each hole of the Burn Kill course! Another thing I noticed is when the course is busy there shouldn't any singles going out. This too causes friction amongst golfers. The foursome in front of a single shouldn't feel obligated to allow them to play through. A suggestion is to wait until they can be paired. so this doesn't back the course up. The staff is always friendly, but again they need to take a hard look at how they run the tee times. Another thing that would help the situation is to have Marshals riding around pushing those slow golfers that are not honoring the pace of play which is clearly written inside their carts. This very thing is why haven't become a member of the course!

This course was not designed for the average golfer! I am a 8 HCP and felt this was one of the most difficult course in the area. I felt the staff was very friendly and the facility was great. The course was well maintained for this time of year. All in all I felt it was a pretty decent golf experience.
