Too many issues to list….terrible course conditions and pace of play isn’t even almost tolerable …. Staff is rude and arrogant… and the price is laughable…. Course used to be nice but has went to junk in the last 3 years… I’ll never return

Course looks and plays fantastic!!! This is my favorite course in the area to play, especially for the price. Plush fairways and people actually know how to fix their pitch marks, which makes these greens some of the best in NKY. They were rolling a little slower than usual when I played. Great pace of play on front 9, got a little congested on the back 9, though. I paired up with 2 other singles, they were great company. Would recommend paying Kenton County a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Course is just in awful condition. Ter boxes, “fairways”, people don’t fix pitch marks on the greens…. Terrible pace of play… I know they are doing work to improve, but this isn’t even close to a 55-60.00 course…. I used to love playing here but not the last couple years… for the money they make in their “greenskeeper revenge” at the end of the season they should have had this course in prime shape…

Course conditions are mediocre, at best…. Course is normally in great condition but not today… yellow/Brown fairways, shaggy greens, rough that’s 4” …. Pace of play on the back 9 was pathetic… not sure I’ll be back, but i love the layout

Nothing more to say, absolutely immaculate conditions from tee to green… friendly staff, played under 4 hours on a Monday with a 11:48 tee time

First off, the guy in the clubhouse that checked us in was in a terrible mood and was rude…. Course was soaking wet and we hadn’t had rain in a few days…. Tee boxes were destroyed…. Fairways were patchy…. Greens were sandy still and rolled very slow…. 52.00 is entirely to much to pay for this course…. We played South/West

Only complaint about the course is length of the rough…..definitely needs to be knocked down a bit as it’s difficult to find balls that roll just off the fairway… greens are slower than the Willows, but as always the course is in great shape… will certainly be back

Course is in terrific shape!!!! Greens rolling fast, as usual…. Plush fairways, well manicured tee boxes….rough is punishing so keep the ball in the fairway or be forced or hack it back into play….play this course 10x a year probably….my go to course in the NKY area…. Pace of play is always nice (I tee off early mornings)…. Always smiling in the pro shop, everyone is very friendly… play this course and you will love it!!!

Really enjoyed the layout... pretty open course with some interesting holes.... links style course with some reachable par 5’s.... very fast, but true greens... plush fairways and tee boxes... will definitely be going back... there’s also a nice driving range on site to warm up before heading out

Excellent conditions, not overbooked and as always, Dave Peru (the manger) is an awesome person!!!! He’s really turned this place around and got it back to what it used to be... I’ll be back several times this year!!!

Been playing here for years, wont return .... I show up for my tee time at 7:00 and they rush me out to the tee box because of a senior league (I assume that’s what it was) I’m 3 holes in front of them when I make the turn and was told to pick the pace up a little bit...I played the front 9 in a hour!!! How much faster would U like me to play? Seen them giving other players some attitude when I was finishing up....typically they overbook the course, today wasn’t the case...I guess they are just used to being rude to patrons and just carry it out even when there’s no need to rush them... seem more concerned with making money than they do making return visitors....do yourself a favor and stay away

Played Pioneer today, played Willows yesterday...both courses are in the best shape I’ve seen them in years.... 2 complaints I have is, still no rakes in the bunkers (maybe they aren’t allowed yet, per Governor) and the rough needs a trimming...hard to spot a ball just off the fairway....on a packed day I could see the length of the rough slowing down play a lot...
The price is a little high right now as well... normally this course runs about 30.00 or so to play...42.50 per person to ride 18 is a little much for this course....very short course with only 2 par 5’s...very tough par 3’s though

Course was in above average condition given the time of year....nobody on the course on a Saturday morning....few fairways had some burnt spots, and a couple greens had issues, but overall I was pleased...worst thing about it is almost every bunker is unplayable....If they would take those and give them attention this course would be top notch...I will be back to play again, my favorite layout in the area

I don’t know where to start...but 56.00 to play this course is absurd, it’s worth about 15-20.00....burnt up fairways, tee boxes haven’t been cut in who knows how long, not a single water cooler on the course, and get this, wayyy overbooked...apparently there was a backup happening and a ranger/mower asked us to skip a hole to help “speed up the pace” while watching the group in front of us hit every shot about 20 yards...said we could come back and finish that hole when we were done lol...it was hole 15 they wanted us to skip...of course I refused to do anything like that, so he went to harass the other group...we had a 7:28 tee time and there was already 4 groups out ahead of us and us and 2 other groups waiting on the first tee with us....the owner that was checking everyone in was friendly at least...I’ve played about 20 different courses this year, and I’ll never return to play this dump again...please, save your money and time and go elsewhere

Gorgeous course with plush fairways and some of the best greens I’ve played this year. They rolled a little slow but there’s not a flat green on the course so putting can hurt u here. Pretty tight fairways on most holes, there’s a good mixture of long par 4’s and some smaller ones. This course requires u to place shots on most holes as well due to the layout and a few trees. My only true gripe is that you are playing right in the middle of a subdivision and a couple tee boxes aren’t easy to locate (3 West u actually have to drive on the subdivisions sidewalk to get to tee box) and the layout is kind of unorthodox but it’s worth playing a round on for the price of a hot deal.

I don’t know where to start....burnt fairways, every bunker is unplayable and considered “grounds under repair”, rough is 4” high and it takes forever to find a ball just off the fairway, and every tee box is like concrete....the green are in good shape and rolling fast, but so hard that it’s impossible to hold a ball when it lands....overall they’ve completely let this course go and I won’t be back this year....save your money and play elsewhere

This course.....sad to say the least.....every course I’ve been on this year has been gorgeous, except this one....plenty of rain and no heat this year and it’s still burnt up somehow....few fairways were trashed, couple greens destroyed so bad that u had to move your ball to avoid putting through tire tracks....not a single bunker is playable and the rough needs cut down....staff is very friendly as always, but the Willows needs to be forgotten about for the year....I will not be returning

They have touted this course as being the best public course in the state which isn’t true. The conditions are close to top notch but a couple bunkers were under repair and a couple others were unplayable even though not under repair. A few of the tee boxes on the par 3’s need some attention to them or tees need to moved to let them regrow. We played in an outing for the MGA (mediocre golfers association) so the pace of play was expected to be slower than normal and they didn’t appear to overbook the course which wasn’t nice. It’s not a very challenging course but it’s a good mix of openness and tightness. Greens rolled true and dried up pretty quickly leaving them fast (which I like) but they were all in fantastic shape. There’s a few longer holes (400+ yard par 4’s) and the par 3’s average about 165 or 170 with the par 5’s just over 500 yards but there’s also 5 or 6 par 4’s that are about 320-350. It was an enjoyable round but for 55.00 I’d rather play a couple other local courses.

Jumped on the course with a hot deal because of the reviews I read, and they were spot on....course is in amazing condition, greens rolled quick and the staff was very friendly....the par 3’s are difficult, but other than that it’s a short course that requires you to play from the fairway....dense rough, but forgiving to an extent, plenty of rolling hills that make u place your shots....first course I’ve played this year that you could actually play out of the bunkers....you can shoot good scores here if you can putt and chop well....will definitely return for another round, especially for the price
