Tiger's Eye Golf Links at Ocean Ridge Plantation
Played On 07/19/2022A big cat course? I guess.
I decided to play the course after reading the description provided on the Golfnow app. It's not a bad course at all for the price I paid. The description mentioned a waterfall, but I only found a tiny little thing out there that fit the description. It should probably not be mentioned. What should be mentioned is that the starter should probably be better trained to give pertinent information such as the lack of yardage markers, course conditions, how to get to the first tee, and the pin position number that corresponds to the diagram on the cart. I had to wing it on all of the above, but I still enjoyed my round. I suggest that the course follow the lead of Diamondback Golf and install big colored vertical markers to assist patrons without GPS figure their yardage on the course. The Tiger was painfully lacking other than the tiny markers located on the cart paths which can only be seen as you approach them (if still on the cart path). Overall, not a big deal of a course. The hype did it a disservice I would say. Hole number nine was fun with a long approach over water to a smallish green. I might play again, but the 40+ mile drive was not worth the gas. Thanks for listening. I did like it mostly, and you'll probably like it too!

Thistle Golf Club - Cameron Course
Played On 01/21/2021Much improved since last time!
The opportunity to play Thistle Golf Club again was worth the risk of not being satisfied, as was the case 14 months ago when I first played there. Bravo for the changes implemented, if any. or perhaps just a change in attitude. Maybe there was a realization that all customers are to be cherished. Today's round in the slight rain shower coming down was an awesome time at Thistle. The friendliness of the bag drop staff and ranger was far superior to the condescending attitudes of the first visit. The pro shop was attentive and polite. The course was in great shape. The sun even briefly came out upon my arrival at the course. What an absolutely beautiful course with such an interesting assortment of holes! I'll play again and bring my friends when they visit. Thank you for listening. I'll give you credit for today's experience.
Farmstead Golf Links
Played On 01/20/2021A two state beauty!
It was windy and the ground was still wet from abundant rain over the last few weeks, but the course was in very good condition. The greens, however, were crying out for some TLC after the never ending trek of voracious golfers left many reminders of their attempts at par and birdie. Although the varietal grass chosen was carpet like, it was showing that it was tired. Despite this, it was a beautiful mild day for January golf, and a most enjoyable one. Try the course and judge for yourself. Farmstead golf is special! A friendly smile in the pro shop would be most welcome.
Diamondback Golf Course
Played On 08/31/2020Off the path beauty!
Diamondback is a true gem! Late August golf does not get any better.
The course has seen some noticeable improvements in the last few years, and shows the pride of the folks running the operation. The fairways and greens were near perfect, and the rough was appropriately manicured. This course is probably the best course on the Grand Strand as far as providing accurate and easily observed yardage to the centers of the greens. I wish more courses would provide this information as well as Diamondback. Not everyone is married to the high tech devices found today,
Go play it and enjoy a marvelous design, as well as a relaxing and fun round!
Tiger's Eye Golf Links at Ocean Ridge Plantation
Played On 08/05/2020Tiger's Eye was distracted.
A very nice layout under the influence of too much rain and wind from TS isaias and summer showers. The course conditions have not been attended to because of weather, but still in decent shape. The greens were a little slow, but manageable. The fairways were in need of blowing, and the tee boxes need a trim. I was playing well despite this, and enjoyed the course and the round. I'll be back when it dries out. Pro shop staff was huffy, and the starter short on personality. Thank you to the helpful snack bar lady, and very friendly and personable ranger!
Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club
Played On 10/22/2019Who cares about the bunkers not being raked?
A wonderful course with lots of water hazards that loom ominously, but give a good shot every opportunity to land in a safe spot. Excellent design mops up the presence of the water, and allows many super tee shots. A fair course that will make you smile as you play! Hit a really bad shot, and you pay the price. What do you really expect? I loved the course and the condition. Not every bunker was raked properly, but its a big place at a good price. Can you do it all without charging up the wazzoo? I doubt it. Try it, you'll like it. I did!
Thanks for leaving us a review, Drive. We're glad you enjoyed your time at Magnolia Landing. Come see us again sometime!
Lochmere Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/19/2019Best course around!
What a great day of golf in mid August! The course is such a gem hidden in Lochmere. I used to play here years back right after it opened, and moved south eventually. A summer visit to play here was certainly a magical tret, bringing back many fond memories. One of my favorite spots to golf. Great track!
Accomodating staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Played with a group who booked two different times, but the staff was nice and made it work for us. This bunch of people realize that the customer comes first, and that the business end of things will follow.
The course is in very nice shape for the time of year, and it was a fun day. Can't wait to play it again. Best track in the area.
Crown Park Golf Course
Played On 10/30/2015Slow play spoils the day.
The front nine is a little plain Jane, but the back has some nice character. Unfortunately, there was no ranger on the course, so the not so fab foursome ahead of me never called the twosome ahead to play through, nor myself. The day was beautiful, so it did not matter tdo much to me, but it did make for a long round. Lots of nice improvements were seen with great greens, lush tee boxes, and fairways of carpet. Try it out. It's worth a shot.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Tiger's Eye. We very much appreciate your patronage. The months long extreme drought followed by heavy rains in the last couple of weeks have definitely made maintaining consistent course conditions a challenge, but we are committed to continuing to provide the best possible playing conditions mother nature will allow at the moment. You certainly did not catch us at our very best and current pricing reflects that fact. We hope you will come visit us again and see our continued improvement.
