It seems the starter staff is huge on controlling the flow, but we ended up spending 5.5 hours. poor management of start times. they all mean well, and this stuff isn
t the end of the world but if the starting staff was a little less authoritarian, our attitude would be different.

Played On 06/06/2021its a fun course...usually windy, but not today. wind not a problem generally. meaning if you play this course, expect some wind. always a pleasure at CB.

CB is a fun layout. very links like and windy, but that makes it really a cool challenge. defiinitely return on a regular basis.

interesting layout, not long but has it's own challenger. almost plays like a links course and keepsm you on your toes. pace was bad due to one grp.. course cant prevent that..greens super fast and game needs to be asdjusted. made it a little more challenging and a little more fun. will be better when airways grow in weekend goldfers need a bit more cushion. definateky coming back.

They are always friendly here. The layout is wonderful and conditions were as good as you can expect for winter time. One we ran into was a bit surly, as you can see. But I let him have my ball
Lion's Paw at Ocean Ridge Plantation

not a great layout. fairways needed a mow but rough was out of control. you could miss a fairway by inches and lose your ball. ditto around the greens. I realize there are consequences to a less than perfect shots but the bermuda grass was way to thick and LONG to prevent way too much time searching and in many cases losing a ball that didnt deserve to be lost. Regarding the layout, many might like it. I found it pretty dull. fyi, pace of play was good because no one else out there. kind of sad.
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Lion's Paw. This legendary and original Big Cat course went through a tough stretch at the end of summer and early fall, but we have worked diligently to return it to form and the results are certainly evident to those playing recently. The rough is actually much improved from even a few weeks ago and we have a comprehensive plan that will keep the roughs and the entire course in excellent condition as we move through the remainder of 2020 and beyond. Greens were great. only issue with them is not with course, but players who don't fix their divots. Neuse is a great layout. Always was. still is. Good value and well maintained. Friendly staff and nice practice facility. what more can you ask.
