Borrego Springs Resort - The Palms Golf Course
Played On 03/23/2018SsssssLooooW
Played Borrego Springs for the first time. Staff was friendly and inviting. The layout was average, the fairways and the rough were fine. The greens were like a carpet but were soooo Slow. The pace of play was very slow as well as we had a foursome in front of us that just were not in a hurry. Almost 3 hours for the front 9. They quit after the front and we played the back in 2 hours.
The Country Club at Soboba Springs
Played On 05/13/2015Didn't live up to the Ratings
Arrived early and got out right away. Very few people on the course. Not surprizing as the greens had just been punched and top dressed with sand. Course is flat flat and not very interesting. Not worth the drive from Palm Springs and certainly didn't live up to it's ratings in GolfNow.
Palms at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 05/10/2015A Great Resort Course
Really enjoyed the Palm Course at Desert Springs. Teed off early and didn't see anyone near until the 15th. Course was in excellent shape. Didn't get a bad lie all day. Only downside was the extremely slow greens. Took several holes before I got the speed of the greens. Marshall showed up(although unneeded) and gave out free apples and bananas. First time in 60 years of playing golf that has ever happened. Enjoyed the 19th hole sitting around the pool at the JW Marriott. A Great Day !
Golf Club At Terra Lago - North Course
Played On 05/09/2015Tough course in the wind
This was a tale of two nines.
The bad - extreme winds on the front 9, a 3 club wind. With the wind a drive went 350 against the wind 150. No GPS made club selection even more difficult.
The good - on the back the wind dropped and the course became more playable. Was impressed with the way the course staff worked to make the course in good shape.
Tough course in the wind. Keep in on the fairways.
John,
The wind definitely comes into play on most days in the valley. I'm glad to hear that the course was in good shape. I'll pass on the kind words to the grounds crew. Thank you, and come back and see us soon.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
Played On 05/07/2015Tough Track
Played Champions 18 a few days ago and couldn't wait to try the Legends side. Wasn't disappointed. Course is in excellent shape but fairly tough. Seemed like I was always faced with a 200 yard uphill second shot on a par 4. A true test. The only downside was the weather. It was cold !! 52 degrees when we teed off at 10AM. Warmed up a bit later but really looked forward to Happy Hour (excellent) when we finished.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Champions Course
Played On 05/03/2015Well worth the drive
Wife and I arrived about an hour before out Tee time but we were teamed up with a couple of locals right away. Perfect day - warm with very little wind. Paid $38 on Golfnow but our local playing partners paid $75. They didn't know about Golfnow. Course was in great shape. Tough but fair. Enjoyed Happy Hour at the 19th hole after the round. Worth the drive from Palm Springs
