Redhawk Golf Club
Played On 07/09/2022Good course, not great
Well worth the price. Course conditions are not a 5 star, but they’re doing a great job maintaining it to the best of their ability. Greens could be firmer and more challenging, and tee boxes are a little beat, but all in all a great value and fun time. Carts didn’t have GPS, which almost seems outdated at this point. If they had GPS carts and the tee boxes were maintained properly, this would be an easy 5 star review. We really enjoyed our time out there and pace of play was impeccable for a weekend tee time. Thank you Redhawk!

Course needs work. That said, the greens are spectacular. This has so much potential to be an amazing course. They neglect the fairways beyond belief and seem to really only care about the greens. If you don’t mind hitting off of dead grass every shot, this course is for you. Tough to pure irons here due to hard ground, but that being said the ball rolls out on the fairway an extra 50 yards. Was hitting drives 350, and 3 wood 300 yards off the tee. Keep that in mind if you play here. All in all, the course is okay
Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake

They stack tee times every 7 minutes which creates a back up on every. single. shot. We get you’re money hungry but figure it out. This course has potential to be fun to play, but it is no where near long enough to warrant a 5 plus hour round. I left after 14 holes after getting stuck behind a group which were hitting multiple shots and what seemed like instruction was taking place?? Not sure why you bring your wife out on the course when she struggles immensely. Stick to the range. Marshall driving around but not doing his job. Will not be playing this course for a while.

Course is in 8/10 shape for the most part. Tee boxes are fine, fairways okay, but the greens were pretty spectacular. Had evidence of being punched recently, but that had no affect. Ball rolled fast and true creating for an excellent experience. This course has challenge for all skill level. I went out at 8 am on a Friday with my grandfather and was pleased to see there was barely anyone in sight before or after us for at least a hole or two in either direction. For the value, this is a great course everyone should play at least once. Staff is friendly too. Makes for a great day. Not to mention it was 75 degrees in the middle of January! Okay, I mentioned it.
Maderas Golf Club

After teeing up on 18, I’m already dreaming of the next time I’ll get to play Maderas. Immense challenge meets sheer beauty as soon as you step onto the first box. Johnny Miller sculpted this course into the hills like Michelangelo sculpted the David, creating a timeless masterpiece for us mortals to enjoy. Complete with rolling hills, waterfalls, creeks, and strategically placed trees which create a sense of solitude on each hole paired with added difficulty. Find a tee time mid-week and you’ll score one for about $100, which, as the 2nd best course in the county behind Torrey Pines, is well worth it. Staff is always friendly, with a cart waiting for you at the parking lot. Also, if it’s any importance to you, the premium price and difficult layout seem to drive away the hacks/30 handicaps so your round will NOT consist of waiting 10 minutes at each shot which always happens at Torrey. In the event you do have to wait at a tee box, time goes by twice as fast as you take in the beauty of the surrounding hills, and before you know it, you’re up.
