Talamore Golf Resort
Played On 08/15/2015Great Pinehurst Area Course
This course has a very nice layout, the greens suffered from some winter kill, but they still putt nicely and quick. Fairways and tee boxes in top notch shape and the staff was very friendly and accommodating as our tee time through GN did not appear on the sheet when we checked in, but still honored the GN rate. The only negative was all tee times had been pushed back and the pace of play was around 5-6 hours.
Baywood Golf Club
Played On 07/11/2015Course Needs TLC
I have played this course many times in the past and enjoyed it, but some serious attention needs to be paid to the course by the staff. Greens had been punched, but they looked almost fried which had nothing to do with aerification and fairways thin and bare in most spots. Seems this year all but one course (CL)in Cumberland County is in poor to terrible shape. Save your money, I wouldn't play here again for a $5 hot deal on GN.
Country Club Of Johnston County
Played On 07/05/2015Nice Layout
Course is in good condition not great, fairways in good shape as are tee boxes. Greens are good, a few had some bad spots on back 9, but overall ball rolled fine. The layout of the course is the feature attraction here offering some elevation changes and an even blend of dogleg right/left holes. Traditional old style course where accuracy and shot placement rule and bomb and gouge gets penalized. Fun course to play and worth the $34 w/ Golfnow
Southern Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/21/2015Hidden Gem
I have played almost every course in the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area over the past 15 years and this one is an A list must play track. Greens are the best in the area right now and overall course conditions are better than all other area courses with the exception of #2, Mid-Pines and Pine Needles. Undulating greens, many elevation changes and sloped fairways will challenge all levels of golfer. If you can get a deal on GN for $50, jump on it and you will not be disappointed.
King's Grant Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/13/2015Worst in area
Course has declined rapidly. Greens are the worst in Cumberland county, fairways are thin and bare. The holes have all been renumbered recently, so for those that haven't played in a while #1 is now the old #14. Don't waste your money, other courses in area much better.
Reedy Creek Golf Course
Played On 05/03/2015Terrific Course
Course is very well maintained and has a great layout. Challenging enough for single digit handicaps yet playable for the average weekend golfer. Facilities are good and staff was very friendly, will definitely play this hidden gem again.
Whispering Woods Golf Club
Played On 08/30/2014Old School Course
Course was in good shape with a traditional lay out, great for older golfers and those that don't hit the ball long. Challenging and fun to play.
Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Grey Fox Course
Played On 08/03/2014Average course for area
Course conditions were average at best, without the discount I would not recommend it. Many other options in the area with better course conditions.
Little River Golf & Resort
Played On 8/7/2013Great golfing experience
One of the must play courses in the Pinehurst area. Well maintained conditions with a challenging layout for all ability levels. Some of the best rolling greens you will putt on.
Longleaf Golf & Family Club
Played On 7/23/2013This course was average for the area
Course in average shape overall, greens could use some extra attention. Worth playing with a deal through Golf Now, but not worth the regular rates.
