Interesting marshland layout, can be soggy

Played with my wife and it was a beautiful day. First time playing. Course conditions were good overall, the greens were beautiful and rolled nice, the fairways less so. it had been dry and breezy and several days since last rain. much of the course was dry but soft. zero roll. parts were a bit soggy . i would avoid this place if it has been raining the day before you play, it will be wet.
the views were pretty nice, some over marsh. lots of water on this course some of it hidden. look at cart gps monitor closely. fairways varied in width but were generous for the most part. tee boxes were in great shape. they clearly overseed with rye. fairway was in decent shape but nothing special.
the rate is a touch high for the condition but i still enjoyed myself. i would come back. it was one of those places where you know you can play well.
two things of interest were they had a few raised tee boxes… on 18 it’s really high. the raises tee boxes are in great shape but the general hardscape around them could use some touch up.
the other odd thing is there is an island green but it wasn’t part of the 18 holes i played. it looks like it is part of the driving range. would be nice it that was a part of play.
what staff that was there was friendly but there were few.

fun day all around

I have played this course 3X in the past year and I enjoy it each time. Typical Florida development course enhanced by a nice marina community, Staff was thin during the COVID period and you need to show driver's license to get in the gate. Pace was fine.conditions were good greens were also nice, a little bumpy in some places but for the most part they rolled nice.
It is a good value for a day of golf.

Nice day on a Dye layout

This is a fun course. The day was cold and windy but when the sun peaked out it felt great. The course seemed to have some maintenance going on and it was not as quiet and pristine as I remember it. (They were respectful of golfers thought) Most holes are lined with homes on the course but there are some very lovely marsh views and some challenging shots. Most Dye courses I've played have more undulations in the fairway and this seems a little different but it was in good condition for this time of year and the wind made it challenging for high ball hitters on a few of the more narrow fairways. I think the interesting beauty of the layout is the water features. The way it meanders around the fairways/greens on a few holes is a very attractive natural look and adds a bit of thinking on lay-up shots. On two holes, I hit what I thought was a perfect second shot only to find I was in the marsh or water. Longer is not always better so judge your layups accurately.
Bunkers were a little firm and didn't have that plush soft feel and could use more powdery sand. About half of the holes were roped off so driving on the fairways/rough was not allowed the day I played.
The staff was very pleasant. The FL resident greens fee (35) is a very reasonable rate but you have to pay for range balls ($9/bag) and there was a $1 internet convenience fee, so add 10 bucks to whatever you paid online. All in all, it is still a reasonable rate for this resort-style course.
This was my third time playing this course and I will return again. The pro shop is reasonably well-stocked with what you would expect.
I have not eaten at the restaurant so no comment there. But it is part of the Omni so I would expect it to meet or exceed expectations.
I enjoy this course and its sister course (long point). I would not hesitate to recommend this.

Pleasant course with good greens

The course is a bit easier than some of the others in the complex. The layout of the back. is a little cramped and a ways away from the front nine. The first nine is was a lot of fun and seemed very consistent, the back nine was fun but I had the feeling it was designed by someone else. It was still fun but it felt different. I enjoyed the front better.
The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The cart girls will visit you a few times each round. The practice facility is very good.
I really liked the sandestin courses there,

Challenging course in great condition

I found this course pretty difficult from the blue tees. A few of the par 4’s are pretty long. Bring your best putting game as the greens are very fast. Most pins were on on flat areas so if you run it by expect a painful roll out past the pin.
That said I loved it. It was a pleasure to play even though it had its way with me at times.
Staff is nice and the cart girls came around to keep you hydrated. Fun day!
I’ll be back for sure.

Nice course, great value

Haven’t played here in the last few months but the course is in very good shape. Greens very good, fairway very good, bunkers fair, great views over marsh.

Very nice course with beautiful marsh views

Great day at oak marsh. Course was a little wet in places but in great shape. The views are great! The design is deceptively challenging. You think oh... this is an easy par 3 , hit a solid tee shot and the green has slopes that take 3 putts.
I liked the course and will be back! Overall it is a nice dye course that is narrow in places with ob in play on a number of holes but the course as great views. I was doing well till number 8 a beautiful par4 with water winding thru the fairway. The landing area was clear, I should have hit a 3 wood or long iron to land safely with a good angle at the tee but I pushed it with the driver and it leaks right into water and my drop left me with no angle and a live oak tree . Play it safe make par. It was very difficult to recover from a poor tee shot so think.
It had rained the night before and area in front of several greens was soft and you got NO roll so you had to fly it to the green. I am sure in the summer it will play different.
There is a short par 3 on the back nine that is wind dependent with an overhanging oak tree. Another deceptive hole.
The crew at course is very nice and polite, pay attention to their tips.
I played with my wife and she loved it. Red tees for her were friendly and she played well.
It is a resort style course so expect a very well marked course, you will not get confused.

If you are in the area, play oak marsh, it’s fun!

Beautiful marsh views

This is a pretty course with a several holes along the marsh with breathtaking and endless views. It is almost distracting. We played in Feb, course was green, a bit wet in places but very playable and the greens rolled well. I will come back to play again. Range is well laid out as well. The color coding of tee boxes seemed odd to me but you can figure it out. You will need to summoned a very solid drive on 18 from the mid and back tees as it is a looong carry over the marsh...I lost a ball there. Red tee players catch a huge break on this one. I wish they had a course layout map because there was a somewhat blind shot on a dog leg par4, I cut the corner thought it was perfect but there is a creek crossing the fairway. But while there were a few more hidden shots there was no real hidden trouble. I found most the the fairways to be generously wide and fun. We drove in a cart but it would be fun to walk. There is a hike though between 9 and 10. Overall we enjoyed it very much.

Surprised how good the conditions were

Grabbed a GN hot deal the morning of due to a last minute change in plans.
Was not expecting much for the inexpensive fee. The course is in very good shape. Interesting layout and a few challenging holes that are a bit different. It sets up better for a player who can draw it but I managed my way thru it.
The greens have interesting contours and in very good condition but were pretty grainy . I think a trim and roll would help.

The driving range is ok. It is not as lush as the course but is fine for a warm up.

The people were nice. Small pro shop. Bar and dining facility.

Overall I really like it and it represents a great value. I know I can improve my score next round

I’ll be back.
