About
Hey I try. I do sink some unbelievable putts once I put the fat boy 5.0 grip on my putter (increases the feel)
I bought a new Taylor made driver and had it custom fit and got some new Adams hybrids that helped.
Still playing in the mid eighties and very loyal to the game. The most important thing is attitude keep a positive one my friend.
You might live longer and get to play more golf

Talking Stick Golf Club - O'odham Course
Played On 08/26/2013Average value for the money
Nothing wows me about the course. Seems a little long No real signature holes or panoramic views that got my attention. The food and service was good in the restaurant. They had a good beer selection.
Eagle Mountain Golf Club
Played On 08/05/2013Summer golf at its best
Great course with great views and very challenging. We hit it a ton and could not easily reach the greens in regulation. Everything is protected by bunkers and water hazards. Very challenging. We had to play the back nine twice as the front was under repair or they were just trying to save on water due to the limited amount of summer golfers. So if you don't want to pay $150 bucks golf it now when it's like a steam bath out there!
The girls in the clubhouse were real nice and the food and beer was top notch.
No beverage cart probably another cost savings strategy?
Raven Golf Club - Phoenix
Played On 7/24/2013The only thing wrong. The greens needed attention
This is a great course down near South Mountain. The staff was adequate for summer and super friendly. One of the guys in our foursum won Raven fan of the day. Pretty Cool as he got free stuff. This is a classy operation however our scores were high as the greens were diseased. So putts were impossible. Other than that it was a great experience
Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 7/18/2013Fun course
Very forgiving fairways and understanding homeowners when you hit their pittbull in the mouth in your backswing through the open fencing. Did not see too many coyotes and did not go in the lake.
TPC Scottsdale - The Stadium Course
Played On 7/02/2013Greens need attention
Nice course near the Scottsdale airport so it is a little disconcerting having jets flying over. If Phil or Tiger or Ricky were on board looking down that would be o.k but they are someplace much cooler than Phoenix in July. As value goes they reduced the rate enough to get interest and I might add Bill the starter from Eden Prarie MN was very knowledgeable and extremely nice. We are group of local guys that live on a course on the West side and during the summer when rates are lower we want to see if we can venture out to different layouts and designs. We will try the stadium when it re-opens in August.
Oakcreek Country Club
Played On 06/14/2013Fantastic and much cooler
Go up here from Phoenix enjoy a much cooler round great scenery and a real value for your money if booked on Golf Now .com. Did not see a cart girl but picked up refreshment on the turn and there was water on the course.
Lookout Mountain Golf Club
Played On 6/10/2013Better be able to reach the fairways
Long ball hitters should not have a problem getting over all the scrub and desert areas to reach the fairway. But if you can only carry 150 yards you are in trouble. This is a shot placers course. The best golfers will not even break 80 Average golfers will not break 100 and will loose five or six balls. The views are fantastic The climbs and descents are trepidatious.
Palmbrook Golf Club
Played On 5/27/2013Many opportunities to wash the ball (in the lakes)
I was influenced by earlier reviews I read on this course to book it. The staff ,who were not busy at all, seemed that they did not appreciate our summertime business. The course we had to play was not the member course but the guest course with parched greens that were hard to putt on. I could almost drive these greens and that's o.k but then it was bogey golf because of the poor conditions. I recommend it with a tongue in cheek. I think there are better values around the valley this summer right out there in Sun City like Grandview or Coyote Lakes. I think t-time hot deals are great!
Starfire Golf Club - The King Course
Played On 5/24/2013Golf shop was a cubby hole
This is a nice close in Scottsdale course flanked by homes of varying sizes. It would have been great to have local knowledge as some of the water sneaks up on you. My ball took a swim a few times but I was able to recover it as it dribbled in and was visible The course was in good shape and the pace of play was very good. The place is classy but meanders through congested neighborhoods so don't hit it OB because you may need to pay for a Mercedes windshield!
Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club
Played On 5/20/2013Bring lots of balls watch for snakes
Played the course with three neighbors. Our skill levels were varied. I'm a usual 18 handicapper but felt like a twenty five to thirty. Ball placement was key sometimes I drove the ball too far. No advice on the GPS as to lay up so I would drive a few through the fairways.
No draft beer in the clubhouse (shucks)
Encountered snakes in the rough B-carefull
Deer Valley Golf Course at Sun City West
Played On 3/22/2013Nice course watch the water It may surprise you that it is reachable
Good value for the money Too many courses in AZ. to pay big money to play in Scottsdale. Sun City offers value and it's not just old people driving Buicks with bifocal windshields
Legend at Arrowhead, The
Played On 1/14/2013I live on the course but don't play it often as it is overpriced for the other value you can get in the area
Well I finally found a tee time on golf now for this course that was reasonably priced. Sun City has better prices and better conditions but it is convenient for me to golf here. The 500,00 spent in improvements does not show. The coffee shop was not open in the morning to get any coffee and some areas of the course remain to be watered. People should know that par 3's are cart path only but they are not told here and folks just drive all over the course. The marshal if there is one on duty is not doing his job. BYW the current golf pro is taking money for lessons and not delivering is what I'm told by neighbors. Don't pay him until you get your lessons!
Friars/Presidio at Riverwalk Golf Club
Played On 12/29/2012The course was quite nice. I will return
I will return to this course. A liitle bit of a drive out to Sun City but was surprised to see younger folks playing. The course is in great shape
Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 10/30/2012tough course lots of water and thick brush
It is hard to break 80 on this course let alone 100. It has lots of water long par fours and challenging par threes. Central location is great. Value for the money is good and the pace of play is good. No issues found that we would want to complain about
Rancho Manana Golf Club
Played On 06/04/2012Heaven on Earth
This is truly a shot placers course. I out drove a few fairways and don't really hit the ball super long. One of the guys in our group broke 80 but he knew the course knew when to lay up,. The views are phenomenal. We got stuck behind the old doc who we were reminded was a "member" several times so he was allowed to go out and search for lost balls over the five minute rule.
Cave Creek Golf Course
Played On 5/8/2012Local knowledge really helps on this course as water comes into play on many holes.
Had some difficulty locating greens and water around them. Also I thing homeless are living down in the brush areas . Even the local birds wanted to steal my chips.
I'll pay more for a better classier course even though the bird /brit in the pro shop was under appreciated.
