Bushwood Golf Club
Played On 07/30/2016good course layout
Good layout with enough hazards to make it interesting. The course was dry in some areas while had puddles in some. Overall, it was a good course to play.
Cardinal Golf Club - East
Played On 07/10/2016Good facilities but slow pace of play
We played in the East Wing course. It is a good course. The front 9 had more obstacles than the back 9. The course is well maintained and clean. The staff all over the facility are very friendly and helpful.
The golf carts are clean with electric motors (i.e. quiet and no fumes). I also liked the touch sceen in the cart which has a gps that shows the map of the course and the distance to different parts of the hole (i.e. to clear hazards, front of green, center of green, etc). No more guessing on your distance to the green.
I would have given my experience much higher reviews except for two things: carts can be locked/stopped, and pace of play.
First, carts that can be locked/stopped. This happened in the back 9 when our carts would just stop. We thought they ran out of battery but then the screen showed that it was locked and we should return to the cart path. I was playing with a 76-year old friend. He didn't appreciate that he can't take the cart anywhere .... at his age, it was inconsiderate to leave the cart in the path and make him walk to the other side of the fairway to make his shot. We later learned that the cart gets locked when you drive over soggy areas or when you are too close to the green (which we weren't). A message on the screen to indicate why the cart was locked would have been a user-friendly way to inform the riders of the situation.
Second, pace of play was too slow. It took us 5 hours to complete the round because there was a group that was taking too long. The marshals said they spoke with the group but nothing really happened, the group still took their time even if it was really backing up. I played on courses that were much crowded than this but we always finished within 4-4.5 hours.
Cardinal Golf Club - Kettle Creek
Played On 07/02/2016nice short course
This is a short course to help you practice your irons. There may be 1 or 2 holes where you can use your driver. The course is well-maintained. The staff are very friendly.
Pheasant Run Golf Club - Highlands
Played On 06/04/2016Challenging course
This is the first time I have played in this course and I like it. The course is very challenging, you must hit good shots else you get in trouble. As expected, I lost a lot of balls here. Elevated greens, narrow fairways, hilly layout, water hazards, bunkers, and the list goes on. The course is well-maintained.
Sorry you lost so many balls... But really glad you found us. Thanks for checking us out and for the great review!
Bethesda Grange Golf Course
Played On 05/21/2016good, challenging course
The course was well maintained. The staff were very friendly. There were many people playing which is why the pace eventually slowed down. They did try to space out the players in the first tee (about 8-9 apart) but it just slowed down once you got to the 4th hole. It would also be nice if they provided yardage for those hazards in the middle of the fairway (e.g. 200 yards to clear the water, etc). Overall, it was a nice course to play.

Royal Stouffville Golf Course - Executive Course
Played On 10/11/2015Nice short course but somewhat confusing
This is a nice and short 9-hole course. The fairways are narrow so it will challenge the accuracy of your short game. My main complaint is that there are no signs showing where the next tee is located. In many cases, you will have to go through some narrow paths through the trees to get to the next tee. My golf buddy and I were joking that we spent more time looking for the next tee rather than playing.
Bathurst Glen Golf Club
Played On 09/27/2015good course
The course was well maintained. Staff are very friendly. The course can be very busy during weekends. It is best to play as early as possible.
Shawneeki Golf Club
Played On 05/09/2015Good course with friendly staff
Well-maintained course with very friendly staff. My only complaint is that some of the tee locations can be confusing (relative to the previous hole). In many cases, there are signs that point to the next tee location. However, there are some that do not. I was fortunate to be paired with a group that knows the course well and knows the next tee. In fact, we came across another group in our fairway who said that they got lost and shot on the wrong tee. Otherwise, it was a very good course to play.
Rolling Hills Golf Club - Classic
Played On 04/18/2015good short course
First time to play in this course. It is a nice short course. The course is really open so there is very little chance of getting OB (or losing your ball). The greens are quite large so you can get to it even if you hit it wide. The course is rather flat so walking it won't be too tiring.
One thing to watch out for is that the holes are next to each other. If you miss the fairway then you'll have to hit your ball from another fairway. Just be alert if the course is busy to make sure you don't hit (or get hit by) another player. I was fortunate to play early in the season that there were no other players during my game.
Thanks for the review! We're glad you enjoyed our course. Hope to see you back for another round soon!
