Enjoyable course when you pick the correct tees

Lucky for us it didn't rain which it usually does on the north side. It was windy. 6400 yards is usually driver short iron for me but the wind was constantly against us. Made the par 3s more challenging.

The course is absolutely gorgeous. It's in great shape. Unlike other Hawaii courses, this one doesn't seem to be tricked out with a beautiful yet impossible layout. I played well and found bunkers a few times. The greens were surprisingly NOT PGA fast which was more enjoyable.

They spaced us out into twosomes. We did front 9 in 1:45 with carts. The food place had a line which was the only bummer and slowed us down a full 15-20 minutes. Took us about 4:05 to play 18.

Walked

Great course layout. Hot day and fun day!

Played on a 90 degrees day and walked. Course overall was in great condition. Greens were a little dry and slow actually. The course is just beautiful this time of year. Fairways are wide. Played on Saturday mid-day. 2 hour front 9 and 2.5 hour back 9 due to one slower group ahead. Really fun foursome though.

What's up with all the random golf balls all over the course? We saw half dozen Pro v1s and several Kirklands just all over the course.

My one suggestion is to create a direct path for walkers to get from pro shop to the driving range. Have to walk through 2 parking lots with my push cart with no back way in. It's not intuitive.

This course needs major TLC

Now I know why the course was priced so low. The greens were in terrible condition. We saw 3 types of issues on several greens. On one green you would see this green paint like hard covering along with white spots, and then even black spots. This was the case on multiple greens. The cart paths were littered with pot holes that were so bad you had to drive around them which defeats the purpose. There were flooded areas on cart paths. We saw the beverage cart lady once on the front and once on the back plus at the 18th. Her cart was in such bad shape it took a full 5 seconds to get going. She looked at us like "I know right?". This place needs to be shut down until they can make the needed repairs.

What happened to this place?

5 hour round. Grass is dead in many places. Naturally course runs to the water on most holes and no rough means ball just rolls and rolls right into the water. Greens are slower than normal. This used to be an amazing and beautiful place.

Great course a little overhyped

I scoured the web looking for a nice course to play while on vacation. Falcons Fire frequently made the list. It is middle of summer. The course had several burnt out areas around the greens . Visually the course wasn’t what i expected. Some of the greens had the random weeds that affected my line. Course layout is fair. Staff was incredibly friendly. I appreciated the dedicated chipping range. Met a friendly local and had a fun round with him.

Wow. Beautiful and fair.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. The clubhouse is very large. Driving range is nice. They have a dedicated chipping/sand area. They also have a couple putting greens. I played the Black/White hybrid tees. I'm a 9 handicap and the Black/White plays 6400 yards. It was actually too short. I had to keep my driver in the bag on 4 of the par 4s on the back. I was rewarded for playing hybrid off the tee. I've never played a course with the sandy cart path/trail along the course on every hole. I had to play off of it a few times and it plays much like fairway. No real rough in site. Being from Chicago, it's taking me a while to get used to the Florida greens. The ball just stops on a dime out here. I"m used to a bit of a roll out. My round took 3:15 on a weekday 11AM tee off. Two twosomes in front of me kept this from being an even faster round. I love this course!

It's a Bargain if nothing else

The course is 5000 yards at the tips. Yes that is a 5 not a 7 or even a 6. There is even a 375 yard par 5 from the tips. I eagled it and wasn't that excited. It doesn't have a driving range. Just a moldy piece of carpet facing a 85 yard net. A few of the pieces flung onto my sunglasses as I was warming up. Yuck!

Pace of play was the best part because it was mainly twosomes on the course during the week in the summer. Took us about 3 hours for 2 of us. The price is alright and great if you bring along a kid.

As a vacationer I was expecting something much better. Perhaps this is great for an older player where 4-5000 yards is perfect and you are on a budget. It's just not memorable. They didn't even have a logo ball for me to collect.
