Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 01/24/2016Great time on the Palms Course...hated No. 8
This was a very challenging course and in great shape. All the conditioning was very good...did not like pin placement on the par 3, no. 8. Ridiculous having no option but to nurse the ball up to the hole or it will roll in the pond with just the slightest of extra speed. Nice hole, but had better pin placement options. 17 holes of challenging fun!
Todd Creek Golf Club
Played On 04/19/2015Fun Sunday on the Course
It was a bit cool and windy, but the course conditions for April were very good. Greens could have been a bit faster/ cut tighter.
Fairways and rough in great shape. Definitely a course you would be advised to take a cart to play.
Only ding...get out there a rake / sandcat the traps. Hard as a rock.
Very nice course, will be back for another shot at it!
Shalimar Pointe Golf Club
Played On 03/08/2015Good all around...but don't get out behind "the gaggle" at noon on a Sunday
Had a 12:04 tee time...the "gaggle" went out as a group at noon as a 20-some. Desk person and marshall (in the "gaggle") seemed indifferent to our situation. Managed to wedge ourselves in between two groups at number 10 on our own initiative. Thanks to those folks who were understanding. All in all, 31 bucks with a cart and range balls (thanks to Golfnow) was such a good deal getting "homered" by the locals wasn't a big deal. Good course despite the "local effects". Taylormade rentals at 30 bucks is a bit high but were good clubs.
Desert Hawk at Pueblo West
Played On 01/27/201570 and Sunny in January....and the course was GREAT!
The weather was incredible and only added to the golfing experience in the middle of winter in southern CO. The deal...cart and 18 holes on Tuesday..was exceptional. Very efficient from the pro shop to the starter to the first tee in about 10 minutes. Course was in great shape...greens were fast/flat, they ran a sandcat in the bunkers and raked the edges! In January! Now that is attention to detail. Smartly designed neighborhood course with plenty of space along the edges of the course, not in somebody's backyard. Very nice homes along the course. The staff was very friendly and welcoming...and made sure to invite us back! We'll be back.
Four Mile Ranch Golf Club
Played On 12/02/2014Four Mile Ranch, always a great time and deal
For December, when it could be very windy and cold, the winds were moderate to light and the temperature was in the 50 to 60 degree range. Greens are still in great shape and although the fairways and rough are browning a little, still pretty lush. The drive from Colorado Springs is well worth it. Hope to play many more times this winter. The HOT DEAL on Golfnow made it an even better deal. And 3 dollar beers from the (modular) "Pro Shop"...can't beat that deal either! GO PLAAAAAAY!
Old South Golf Links
Played On 10/21/2014First time playing there and will do it again!
First group out and they paired us up with another twosome who were great guys. Very generous on the drop areas to keep the pace going on tougher holes. Really fine shape and challenging....and GOLFNOW made it more affordable. Nice clubhouse and food/drink was tasty. Nice people work there!
Pine Creek Golf Club
Played On 08/11/2014Pine Creek...thank God the drought is over
After many years of drought that took a toll on courses and conditions all across the area, Pine Creek has rebounded and is in great shape. The pace of play was a bit slow but it gave us plenty of time to assess the next shot and minimize errors in course management. Greens were in great shape and although the bunkers still had rain damage from a recent downpour the day before, we had a great round. Fairways were lush, rough was penal, so it encouraged staying in the short grass. Well worth the 29 bucks to walk it!
