The Olympic at Gold Mountain Golf Course
Played On 07/13/2014Gold Mountain - travel to the west side!
Good course, well worth the trip to the other side of the peninsula, a good drive away from Seattle. The course is superb, beautiful, and a strong test. The only negative is no water on the course and limited beverage service via a drink cart.
RiverRidge Golf Complex
Played On 07/12/2014RiverRidge - Tight but Fair
Played this course early Saturday morning, getting the tee time on Golf Now the night before. The first couple of holes, especially #2, are extremely tight but after a while it opens up a bit. I like #11-13 on the other side of the road, two par 3s and another extremely tight par 4 that I just laughed at - it was that tight. Love the huge trees in the middle of the course! Decent value in the Eugene area.
The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course
Played On 07/08/2014Ft Ord - at last
I have wanted to play the Ft. Ord courses for years and finally got a chance in July on a golf vacation to the Monterey Peninsula. These two courses were a good change (and a lot less expensive) than Pebble Beach and The Links at Spanish Bay - and a good contrast from the ocean side links to the tree lined fairways. Played 36 holes - the Bayonet first - and got teamed with another twosome that helped pace of play. In the afternoon, we went out alone and pretty much had the course to ourselves until the very end. Two good challenges, fairly tight, tree-lined fairways, fantastic weather and not much wind up on the hill overlooking Monterey Bay.
