I understand the summer heat but it looks like the money is being spent on the driving range and not on the course. Anytime you have an abundance of ants it tells me the course is not healthy. Weeds or scalped area all around the greens. Will not play again until Course is better maintained.

Greens were good. Service at the 19th hole was excellent.

I’ve played here many times but this has to be the worse conditions I’ve seen the greens. I’m not what happened but you’re putting over small craters.

Just wish we would have be told that the greens were so bad.

The starter was a little pushy but other than that everyone else was we encountered for superb. Clubhouse staff was friendly and talkative. The ranger was great, came up to us on the 5th hole to let us know we were on a great pace. At the turn the same person from the clubhouse met us off the 9th green to tell us we were on a great pace and thanked us.
Course was in very good condition considering all the rain we had had earlier in the week.

I don’t mind paying $80 to play Devil’s Claw when in good condition but not when overseeding is happening within a couple days. The tee boxes were poor on the majority of the holes. The fairways had many bare spots or ground under repair and around the greens had bare spots too. The only positive about the course were the greens which all rolled true. Cost should have been 1/2 the price for these conditions. Also would have been nice if we were told ahead of time about the condition of the course.

We play 1-2 different courses throughout The Valley each week and Starfire was by far the worst. It started with the starters letting 3 foursomes sit at the first box, zero organization. Tee boxes have very little if any grass, mainly weeds. Fairways do not have grass but weeds. Where there are bare spots which there are plenty they have over watered which creates mud. Hit all but two fairways and never had a lie in actual grass. Around the greens are the same, mud every where. The only good thing about the course were the greens. Pace of play was 5 hrs and we started at 7:30. Staff never tried to get anyone to speed up, even got in to us for being behind even though we had to wait at every tee box and every shot for the groups in front. I would never play there again even if you paid me!

Greens are in great condition which hasn’t always been the case. Pace of play was great, 18 holes for our foursome in 3 1/2 hours. You can’t beat the price when it’s less than $30.

We’ve played many so called higher tier courses this summer but GCU was by far in the best condition, soft sand in the traps and the greens rolled true. A definite hidden gem in The Valley.

Course is in very good condition considering how much rain hit The Valley this week. Greens are super fast.

Overall good times at a good price.

The course was in very condition for being this late in the summer. Pace of play was great as we finished just over 4 hours. We had lunch afterward and the food was very good and the prices were appropriate for the area.
