As usual the team at Silver Lakes were welcoming and started off our fantastic fall round with great positivity. Golf course for late fall was in really great shape. Greens keeping team were working their tails off blowing the leafs off the fairways and primary rough. Overall just a super “late” October round of golf at Silver Lakes. Hopefully maybe 1 or 2 nice November days are still to come. If they do, it will be Silver Lakes for me!

Enjoyed another great round at Silver Lakes. Perhaps the best shape of any course I have played in 2018. Greens were a bit spotty cosmetically however there were quick and rolled try. Pro shop staff was friendly and the young guy working in the cart area was in a great mood. Always nice to start a round when the staff actually make you feel that they truly appreciate you being there.

Keep up the great work from the greens keeping and pro shop team.

Everything was exactly as anyone would want it to be. A ton of credit to the superintendent and his crew. Despite all the rain lately the course was in exceptional shape ( no easy task ). Keep up the great work to the entire Oak Bay team.

Had a great time. Have not played the Abbey in years. We were off at 4:48 and with the exception of # 11 (as expected) we had really no delays. Staff was great. Golf course surprisingly was not too beat up this soon after the open. 18 was a challenge as it was overcast which impacted the natural light available. Three good friends not playing like it was the open equaled a great late afternoon round. As a side note and slightly disappointingly..... The clubhouse is really showing it's age. Not sure what if anything can be done without major dollars being invested.

I have played Midland many times. It is a great old track that will ask you to hit more than a few different shots. The greens on the front nine can be viewed as small targets. The back nine greens are more normal or modern size. Two very good par fives are on the back. With the exception of the funky short (very uphill) par 4 12th it is a great course to walk and enjoy the natural beauty of the property. Staff is always friendly. The range is not great however it is there and is understandable based on the available space. It is an old course that has been preserved as so and should be enjoyed as such.
