Laurel View Country Club
Played On 09/26/2019Good day on a nice track but traps are a no play
Pro was wonderful, carts are new and great. Don't call the traps sand traps. They are boulder, rock and stone traps. Hit out of two lifted the other two. Had to move literally 8 inch boulder to hit one of my trap shots. Clay traps not sand. Rebuilding traps as some have white sand. I didn't hit into any of those so I can't comment on them. About 20% of traps have been rebuilt. First cut around greens is burnt and baked in too many places. Greens are good with a good roll and good speed. Worth the $'s but lift out of traps. Cart paths are going to destroy the new carts.

Played On 08/10/2018Changes to number 10 are not appreciated by many (change is often hard for some to accept) but I am OK with it. Looking forward to them actually building a tee box for 10 instead of hitting off the fairway grass mowed a bit shorter. Will be interesting to see if the extremely small and limited range that was installed justifies the changes to #10. Restricted flight balls, irons only, etc. I do like the targets in the range. Play was as usual during our round. Course typically has SLOW greens over the years and not much changed with new ownership. Time will tell.
St. Anne Country Club
Played On 02/26/2018It was open in February
Carts allowed on front. Obviously they allowed them on the back prior to the day I played. Entire course is cart ruts. They should not allow carts until the course dries up. Way to much damage.
Enjoyed playing in February in great weather. Greens didn't have much break but we expected that.
I will play it again. Price is good with Golf Now and it is open in February.
St. Anne Country Club
Played On 10/13/2017Good value, 4:35 pace, no ranger
Easily could have been a sub 4 hour round if only course had a ranger. Waited on every shot.
Group in front of us had a golfer that got 30-50 yards off every tee. They were nice enough to let us play through on #11. Nice guys, just no reason to let us play through earlier as course was backed up. Only reason they let us through was the twosome in front of them walked off the course because it was so slow. We were a twosome behind a foursome, twosome, foursome. Typically pace is better Monday - Thursday. We played on a Friday at noonish.

Played On 09/22/2017Great value, good golf challenge
Second time playing course in last two weeks. Second time helped. Very windy which impacted every shot including putts.
Great value.
Pace (4:40) was slow, tee time was noon on a Friday. Previous time playing was earlier in week / mid day and pace was great.
I will play again. #18 is kicking my butt but I will overcome it.
Norwich Golf Club
Played On 09/20/2017Challenging course
Small and challenging greens which I enjoyed. Good test of golf. Staff was great. Need to play course more than once as there are some blind shots, ravines that you expect to be wet that are not. 18 holes, cart, single, finished in 3:15. Full menu and bar. Burger was good. Well worth the GolfNow Hot Deal price. I will be back soon.
Minnechaug Golf Course
Played On 09/19/2017Good Value
I will play again next week.
Pace was great, played as a single with a cart.
Some burnt out areas just off fairways. Tee boxes need grass. Trap I was in needs work (3" of sand in one place and 1/2" in another - yes I did not make it out of the trap on my 1st shot). Staff was good. Restaurant was to hot to stay. Their reason was they just opened - seems to me they would have the A/C on early enough so it is a pleasant experience for customers when they are open for business.
I will return on a Golfnow Hot Deal as course is local and a good value.

Played On 09/07/2017Yes for a Golf Now Hot Deal price.
Worth the GolfNow Hot Deal. I tend to rate courses harshly.
Summary: I would play again for a Hot Deal price.
Staff: Very friendly & helpful. Really interested in hearing how course / experience could be improved. Not sure if they just listen or if they actually do something to improve experience (See hole #1 note below).
1) Score card font is too small to read.
2) Hole about 10" deep by foot golf flag short front of 1st green over grown with grass, they say they filled it several times but drainage opens it up, I wrenched my ankle in it, solution is to put a grate over it (IMHO).
3) Hole markers with layout non-existent and too small to read on score card.
4) Tee box markers on one hole missing.
5) Sand traps need lots of work, have not been groomed in what looked like weeks.
Course is a local's course, cheap cost, chance to get out. I played it back in the 80's. Better condition now.

We are working to get everything at the course up to par. As you mentioned, we have a project to tile the bunkers and restore them. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can continue to make improvements, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance.
