Over priced!

Decent course layout, but this is the most overpriced course in Tampa by a mile. Don’t expect private course conditions even though that’s what they charge.

Fallen of a cliff

I’m currently on the 3 tee box and I’m ready to turn around and leave. What more do I need to say?

Used To Love The Eagles

The Eagles used to be the go-to course in the Tampa area for a solid 4-star great value round every time. Unfortunately over the past year conditions have gone off a cliff, the course is for sale and it seems to be hanging by a thread. This is not the place it was and it’s sad to see.

The tee boxes are sand boxes, both courses seem to be intentionally overbooked so you’ll have to wait for a cart, range & practice area are trash, clueless staff, they don’t answer phone calls.

The eagles has always had very solid greens. This was a course you would go to so that you could work on your game. The greens are so bad and slow right now it is an embarrassment to the game of golf.

You will also never see a ranger. It pains me to write this review but somebody needs to do something over there to bring this place back to life. I won’t give up on you but I’m certainly not the only one that feels this way.

2 words: Never Again

Showed up on a Thursday morning for a 7:15 am tee time.

At 6:45 am a bag boy pulled up to my car to take my bag. I told him I was good as I didn’t have cash and didn’t mind walking 1 minute up to the shop. He insisted and grabbed my clubs without asking. When we got to the shop he demanded I go inside to the ATM and get him a tip. When I came back out he was asking me where his tip was. I went in and got him $ but it was extremely rude & over the top when I said I was good.

The Tee sheet online showed the course as wide open which is why we chose it. We pulled up to the tee box and there were 12+ carts lined up to go out. Not a ranger or starter in sight, pretty much a mayhem free for all.

We said screw it and went off on the back 9, played it in 1.5 hours. When we went to turn onto the front 9, the lady in the snack shack asked why we had gone off the back first rudely. I said because we had booked a 7:15 tee time, showed up at our time and there were 15 carts waiting. I asked her where the starter and ranger was?

We made the turn and of course we were behind a 5-some that were sharing clubs and hacking all day. 3.5 hour front 9.

The only plus about this course was the greens were decent. Then again they are everywhere as we are in prime time season. The layout isn’t very fun either. Management is horrible. Pretty pathetic what they charge here and I will never be back.

Unbelievably horrible

6 hour round today at lansbrook. ABSOLUTELY pathetic. Longest round of my life. Our tee time was at 10:30am and we stood on the first tee for an hour before we teed off. The starter was a total a-hole. There was no practice green to kill time and they were letting twosomes off when they had 5 groups waiting to tee off. At one point there were 5 groups on one hole without a ranger in sight. For $50 this was an absolute joke. We had to play the front 9 twice because after a 3.5 hour front 9 we couldn’t wait anymore.

The course itself is a solid layout, greens were decent. Conditions were soaked as expected. I could see it being fun when dry and when tee times are spaced properly.

Amateur hour. Everyone that waited today should get both their money and their time back. Will never be back. Days like today make me appreciate private courses.

Hidden Gem

I will start by saying I am an 8 handicap and play three times per week, I enjoy playing as many different courses as I can (nice courses only) and don’t typically leave reviews. I was working in the Orlando area and decided to jump on White Heron on my drive back to Tampa.

Honestly wow, this course is under new management and they are clearly going above and beyond to create an unforgettable 5-star experience. I could not believe some of these past one-star reviews when I read them after my round. This is clearly a new course. For all of the rain we’ve had, this track was in pristine shape and the greens were A+. They just added the Rolls Royce of golf carts with leather seats and touch screen ipad-style gps systems which were super cool!! Also they included a lunch with my greens fee which I had no idea about when I booked. You get a choice of hotdog/hamburger and waffle fries & soda at anytime. It was awesome, especially if you value a great hot dog at the turn. I called lunch in on the tee box of 9 and it was ready for me in a to-go box with condiments & freshly grilled.

On to the course. These greens were true and rolled perfect. The bunkers soft and fluffy (no blading your wedges out of these traps). Great fairway turf that lets you attack your irons. The layout is not your typical tee it high & let it fly Orlando course, it requires you to play golf the way it was meant to be played. With precision! I found myself hitting all types of shots and every club in my bag. Select your tees wisely and you can score well.

Lastly, being by myself, the staff was so friendly. I legit felt like a member for a day at a private course & not just another number. The bag boys took my bags & cleaned my clubs to and from the car, the manager walked out and welcomed me to White Heron and escorted me to get checked in, the maintenance crew on the course cracked some funny jokes and most importantly the owner drove out to the 18th green to ask about my round, ensure I had fun, and encouraged me to come see them again.

I’ll definitely be back. I felt as if they tried so hard to make my day great that I wanted to show them the love and the credit this new course rightfully deserves. They are building a state of the art clubhouse which will make it next level. I don’t see this course staying at $45/round for much longer so hop on when you can.

Gave It A Second Chance

Most overpriced course in the Tampa area by a country mile. A $30 course priced at $70. Course conditions “decent” at very best and the layout isn’t anything special. There are much better options
