Mountain View at Desert Willow Golf Resort
Played On 04/17/2022Desert Willow second option is beautiful
The mountain view course is much more friendly than firecliff for the average golfer, but still is meticulously maintained and beautiful desert course. It is unbelievable that this is a public course. A little easier than firecliff, but just as challenging as a desert course. Greens hold well, and roll true. This day they were a little slower than firecliff, but overall medium fast. Highly recommend this course.
Firecliff at Desert Willow Golf Resort
Played On 04/16/2022Desert Willow is Top Rated public course in Desert
Firecliff is the tougher of the two courses, but its a beautiful and well maintained course especially for a public course. Greens were holding well, and rolled medium fast. Definitely a true roll and challenging. Be ready for the tight track and bunkers, but a well played shot always has plenty of room.
Palm Desert Resort Country Club
Played On 02/13/2021Much Improved Course
Played here a few years ago and it was a horrible experience. Since the homeowners association bought this course and invested in much needed improvements, it is a great track to hone up your game for the numerous challenges at other courses in Palm Desert area. Greens rolled well, and were surprisingly fast which I like. Layout is improved. Good potential here keep up the good work!!! I was impressed!!!
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - St. Andrews Course
Played On 07/08/2018Classic golf course with Medium Speed greens
St. Andrew's is an excellent suburban Chicago facility with two courses. Going out at 6 am the pace of play was excellent. Course is in good shape and greens are decent. Medium speed greens that I personally would like to see a bit faster but in overall great shape. The greens hold well but some are large enough that it's a high focused two putt. Length is average and it does have some trees but isn't too tight. The bar, restaurant, etc. Is best in area. I am only here to golf but the facilities which are excellent should be mentioned. Definitely will be back and recommend!
Prairie Landing
Played On 07/07/2018Best Greens in the area!
Excellent course that is run very professionally with a great staff. Front nine is more open than the back, and has some excellent strategy holes. The Greens are absolutely fantastic and roll very smooth. Medium fast and definitely hold well. Pay attention to the pin placements as being on the wrong side will cost you a 3 putt. Course is very well kept from tee boxes to fairways to bunkers. Well done I will definitely be back!!!
Orchard Valley Golf Course
Played On 06/23/2018Great course and control your drives
This is the best course in the area and is very well kept. Couple of tricky holes off the tee (3 iron holes) which is fine but not for the guys that want to let the big dog eat. Great setup but many non driver holes off the tee. Greens held well and rolled great and true. Pace of play is slow but that's what you get. Highly recommend this course for the mid to low handicap player
Prairie Bluff Public Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2018Great course but SLOW even with 630 tee time
Great course and great value! However when 8 come to play at 7 am or before I expect to get done in 4.5 hours or less. Typically way less when starting at 630. Love the wide open format and greens held. They rolled slower than I would like but were true. Yardage markers were a bit off but we lasered our shots in. We quit after 15 holes as it was too slow. I hardly ever quit but the groups ahead were slowing to a stop in the heat. Keep the morning tee times to those that can at least move along. Otherwise great course but I wouldn't drive to risk a 5 or 5.5 hour round regardless of the price.
I am sorry to hear about your round. I am looking into the day, but I have no groups that meet your description (back to back foursomes before 6:30) over the last 3 weeks. Can you please provide more information.
The Amelia River Club
Played On 06/14/2018Great course for the Money
Great little course and extremely friendly staff. Well kept and just tricky and tight enough for you to think about how to score. Greens held approach shots well and putted medium speed. Most tee shots made you think about what you wanted to do, but open enough you could make a mistake. Take out your 1 iron a few times but enough holes to let the big dog eat. Cant wait to come back
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Palm Desert Resort Country Club.
