this course (and one nearby) is the only golf course I've ever played ANYWHERE that has a time at which a golf cart must be returned. Everywhere else I have played allow play until darkness. Will not be playing this golf course again.

As is true of so many Arizona golf courses, San Ignacio was built to sell real estate and houses. It achieves this better than most. The course has a lot of elevation changes offering many great views of the Santa Rita mountains. The western boundaries of the course are adjacent mountainous desert and a couple of deep washes run through the property. It's not unusual to see javelina, coyotes and even an occasional mountain lion on or near the property as well as numerous rabbits, doves, quail and roadrunners. The course will offer a scratch golfer all he can handle from the back tees but is quite playable from several sets of tees farther forward. You will not be bored here thinking 'didn't we just play this hole a few holes back?' The Coyote Grill offer excellent food and an outstanding view of the Santa Ritas.

The course is reasonably long but not very difficult. It is flat and you can roll the ball all the way onto the green on most holes. The fairways are watered--bad lies are not a problem--and the greens are very smooth. It's a good course for seasoned citizens who often find themselves with less air game and more ground game as the years go by.
Getting thru the gate and in to the base is a bit of a hassle. You need to call the pro shop and they will send someone down to get you signed in. Also, if you like to sit down for a sandwich and beverage after the round, you are largely out of luck. The bar and grill closes at 1pm That's right . . . one hour after noon and they close up shop!

Had tee time in afternoon shotgun. The staff grouped me with two members, both of whom played well and were very congenial. We moved right along, not waiting for anyone in front of us and not being pushed from behind. I had an enjoyable afternoon.
