The Executive Course at Lakehouse
Played On 08/28/2023General review
This is a very good executive course nestled within a residential area of San Marcos. It can be walked or a cart can be rented for a reasonable rate. The course is comprised of mostly 100-120 yard holes but does have two 400 yard holes requiring your driver. The course itself has holes with standard flat elevation from tee to green intermixed with holes with elevated tee boxes and elevated greens giving the golfer various challenges to hone your short game. The course has many large trees that provide welcomed shade as well as limbs reaching out to swat your shot if not skilled in alluding the obstacle.
The greens are surprisingly well maintained. My only wish is that the tee boxes would get similar attention.
Small practice green is available and is in good condition. Pro shop simple but stocked with the basics for the unprepared- balls, drinks, and snacks.
Tijeras Creek Golf Club
Played On 10/27/2018Course overpriced for condition
Tee time booked through Golf Now. When we arrived at the course, we were told the course was aerified. We were given $10 credit since we were unaware. When we asked for a bucket of balls to warm up we were told the driving range was closed through mid-November! Really? Aerified course, sandy greens, overwatered fairways, no driving range -- all for $89??? These conditions should be posted on Golf Now so golfer can decide weather to book or not. Drove up from San Diego just to play this course. Bad experience. Maybe better when course recovers but then fees will be higher. This course is not worth $89 even under better conditions.
