Love This Course .. But Conditions Are BAD!

I’ve played Pitman at least a dozen times. It’s not a very long course and some of the holes are a little quirky, but overall it’s a fun layout and for the price I think it’s one of the better courses in that area. But this last time - the conditions totally ruined the experience. Granted it had rained the day before so it was a little wet, but they were running carts in the fairways so it was dry enough. We played the front 9 and just yikes. Fairways were decent for the most part, but had some noticeable dirt patches and stress, rough was pretty thick and lush, but the greens .. man were they bad. A majority of them had HUGE dead spots and more that you could see popping up. They had one temporary green (Hole 5) and one that should have been a temporary green (Hole 8) because the green was soaked and very much dead. I really hope they can get this course back into the condition that it has been in the past because it is a fun track, but I will not be back for the rest of the season.

Decent Course Conditions, Horrible Pace of Play

My buddy and I were looking for a place to play and White Oaks continued to come up in our search so we decided to make the hour drive to play. Staff were incredibly friendly and we got started right on time. Overall the course layout is solid, very much a pines course with a lot of tight tee shots - you NEED to be able to hit a draw here since that’s what most holes set up for. Tee boxes and fairways were in decent condition for the time of year but the greens were surprisingly good and fast which was nice. The reason I won’t be back to White Oaks is the pace of play. We waited at least 5-10 minutes on EVERY tee box. Round was a solid 5 1/2 to 6 hours. I get that it’s a nice day and people want to play, but we saw multiple rangers out on the course and they did nothing to speed up play. My biggest pet peeve is waiting 20+ minutes in between shots and we did it all day long which really takes away from the experience.

Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and we are glad to see you rated the course conditions to be great during your game. Thank you for playing White Oaks Country Club. We hope to see you again soon.
