Highlands Reserve Golf Club

Played On 10/12/2020Fun for what it is
It's a bit run down, very dangerous layout ie: criss crossing everywhere, fun non-the-less.

I've played here for over 15 years and never disappointed. I was not here last year but very disappointed this year. A cow pasture is too good of a description. Every green was a pitted disaster and the fairways a weedy mess. I guess they are letting the course go and then sell it for a housing development?
Black Diamond Golf Club
Played On 05/24/2019Worth the drive!
I play here approx. 6 times a year with friends from Toronto and the Pontypool area. I've played here since the second week the course opened and have never been disappointed with Black Diamond or it's staff.
King's Bay Golf and Country Club
Played On 05/22/2017Slow play
Everything was good except the slow and bumpy greens.
Starting on the second 9, the starter in his infinite wisdom let 2 men walking followed by 2 women riding ahead of us. Why he didn't let us play through is a mystery. Why he didn't pair the 2 groups together is also a mystery. The second 9 was 45 minutes longer than the first 9 with waiting on every other hole. The women (in their 50's) were ridiculously slow. They capped it off with cleaning their equipment and organizing their bags directly in front of the 18th green while we waited in the middle of the fairway. Sadly, the 3 friends I took with me for their 1st experience at King's Bay said they would never play there again.
Remington Parkview Golf and Country Club - Upper
Played On 06/09/2016slow play
After 9 holes our 4-some caught up to a tournament.
Thanks Remington for turning a 4 hour round into 5.5 hrs!
1 of our 4-some left his clubs on the cart and walked off the course. Ridiculous - didn't see a marshall all day!
I've played here at least 30 times and never had this happen. Unfortunately 2 of my 3 friends will not return.
The pro-shop gave us 2/1 coupons which after the discount is still $7 more than what we paid on golfnow.
Royal Niagara Golf Club - Escarpment Course
Played On 10/11/2015charge up your carts!
The elderly couple I was paired with were great.
After 9 holes they got a new cart as the 1st was slowing down. Midway down our 10th fairway they had to return the 2nd cart for the same reason. We played 3 holes and I had to push their cart down the fairway - same reason only this time the cart would only crawl at a snails pace. I drove back 1 hole to borrow a cell phone from the group behind us and called for a new cart delivery.
We let 2 groups play through and needless to say, all this did not help my play.
4 carts in total.
What was ridiculous is that the man who gave the elderly couple the 3rd cart gave them bad attitude suggesting they took the wrong cart (2nd cart) when it was his coworker who gave them said cart.
the elderly man was gracious with the staff but I could tell he wasn't happy with how he was treaded/talked to.
Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/06/2014good walking course
reminds me of South Carolina. Beautiful wi great sand and no alligators. Watch out for poison Ivy - lots in the bushes!
Oliver's Nest Golf and Country Club
Played On 05/17/2014spring golf
a bit wet but they allowed us a 90 degree with the carts something most other courses would be cart path only.
Considering the course was closed for most of last year and is under new owners, it was in good shape - but the greens were extremely slow (surely to speed up as the weather warms).
Panther Run Golf Club

awesome course. greens ...12 on the stimp meter. Excellent pace at 4 hrs. wide open with approx. 4 holes with water in play. Watch out for the 18th green protected by water on the left not visible on your 2nd shot when attacking the par 5 for a chance at an eagle. 6 tee blocks. 24 -18 handicap - I recommend tee blocks #3. Excellent value on Golfnow.com! 9th of 11 rounds on 10 different courses. the best greens by far - large and undulating for some exciting putting. Got to watch animal control remove a large gator in front of the 14th tee blocks a real treat! Rent a cart - way too long from greens to next tees.
Lindsay Golf and Country Club
Played On 9/4/2013great layout with challenging holes.
greens were in great shape but a little slow - (8 stimp).
Thick rough around the greens added to the challenge.
Good sand in the bunkers.
Refer to the layout before teeing off as there are hazzards, water, OB etc. that can't be seen from the tee blocks.
Bushwood Golf Club
Played On 8/8/2013a bit slow for the conditions.
good value with GolfNow.com
marshal needed to encourage faster pace of play.
some blind shots that should have placards indicating distances to unseen hazards.
overall good experience.
Wolf Run Golf Club
Played On 08/3/2013fast greens in excellent condition
golfnow.com makes the trip from Toronto worthwhile.
Winchester Golf Club
Played On 6/9/2013short par 4s
decent greens. Layout a bit dangerous i.e. tee blocks proximity to greens & overlapping fairways. Good value but should be played in 3 1/2 hrs or less.
Tangle Creek Golf & Country Club
Played On 5/31/2013several problems should be addressed.
I was 2 over after 5 holes and then came the par 5 with a raised green and a small pot bunker to the front left of the green. It took me 3 unsuccessful shots in the sand to realize there was less than 1 inch of sand with clay below. I raked myself 3inches of sand and made a nice up and down out of the sand. The fact it took me 4 shots to exit the bunker, really messed up my score. Tip ... add some sand!!!!
The gps in my cart did not work properly so I kept using the other cart's gps. My gps was slow in response and I had difficulty exiting the scorecard to view the hole I was playing. I think my cart was # 56.
Other than the gps and one horrific sand trap experience, I enjoyed the course.
Lakeridge Links Golf Course
Played On 11/16/2012set in the country, this course has beautiful scenery.
The course was wet the day we played - cart path only. The weather was good for November which made for an enjoyable round at Lakeridge Links.
Black Diamond Golf Club
Played On 11/12/2012picturesque with many elevations.
great fall value. The course was in great shape. Several 'long bomber' holes and most holes were challenging. This course has a variety of looks ... dog-legs, long par 5's, challenging par 3's, picturesque water holes and large greens. Though a 45 minute drive from east Toronto, it was well worth the drive.
Pheasant Run Golf Club - Highlands
Played On 11/08/2012very enjoyable, even with a 3 hr frost delay
The greenest of greens. They actually appeared to be blue-green in colour! the entire course was in excellent condition and they threw in a pork ribs with fries and soup lunch with the fall special rate. Though far from my home, I will definitely be playing this course come spring 2013.
Thank you for visiting us at Black Diamond Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
