About
I've played most of my life, high school and college intramural. Currently I'm a member of the Paradise Valley Men's Club in Vacaville, California.
I love to play the sport because it allows you to meet people and give you the chance to learn something new every time you hit the course. I don't care if it's raining, ice on the ground, as long as they let us out to play I'm testing my grit.
My goal is to get my handicap to 10 this year... we'll see if it happens.

Souris Valley Golf Course
Played On 05/11/2020Great Value, Great Walking Track!
This course was a lot of fun. It's one of three true18 hole tracks. It is part of the Minot park, which is awesome because it brings sights and sounds of nature to the course. Number two is definitely a tough hole if you find yourself out of position. I'm used to walking Northern California so this was a breeze. COVID has definitely lowered the number of golfers on the course, I got around in just under 4 hours. If you are going to walk, I'd recommend carrying. If you have a push cart there are a few holes I'd 'pull' the cart. The staff was amazing and very welcoming. The course pro was extremely nice and enthusiastic about growing the game. This course also has Jr. tees, which is a huge plus being able to bring my boys out with me! My HD pictures are too big, they're located on insta @guardian1068
Constant Spring Golf Club
Played On 06/30/2019Oldest Caribbean Track according to the locals...
Constant Spring Golf Club is a hidden gem in the northern part of Kingston. One of the locals told me it is the oldest track in the Caribbean. The course plays short from the white tees, and can get a little narrow on some of the holes. Cell reception is great if you have international data and want to use your phone for GPS around the course. I used theGrint app with no issues whatsoever.
The pro shop has all the essentials one might need to play a round when you left your sticks at home. While the rentals are quite a bit dated, they did the trick for a friend and I just fine. I will say there is a good chance it will be a mixed bag of irons and metal woods, but fun nonetheless.
The course recommends that you take a caddy. While not mandatory, I think it was well worth it. Before the round starts, negotiate with your caddy or caddymaster and ask about the bag fee. Do not assume the fee is for your whole group if only one caddy goes out; it may very well be per person.
After the round, the 19th Hole is a great place to sit back and relax with a frosty beverage, but if you want “real food” there is a Jerk restaurant that comes highly recommended you’ll see on the left as you drive up to the course. If I find myself back in Kingston, I will most definitely play this track again!
Paradise Valley Golf Course
Played On 03/10/2019Drains good, but still slushy...
Paradise probably drains the best of all the munis in the area, but it's still slushy out there. When we get some dry weather there's no doubt it will be great! The course is still hasn't fully recovered from the aeration of the greens, and they're still pretty bumpy. Range was closed and cart path only due to rain...
Indian Valley Golf Club
Played On 12/15/2018Course needs some Work...
Contrary to some of the reviews below, the staff in the pro shop were really inviting. Omar helped orient me with the course amenities and where everything was with a cheerful attitude.
IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING BUT VERIZON, YOU WON'T HAVE CELL/DATA SERVICE. The pro shop does have Wi-Fi though!
The Course:
#4 Hole is closed with what I heard was another 2 weeks from 15DEC. They have an alternate card as well as an extra short par 3 hole behind the club house to make up for the lost hole.
#2,3,7 greens were in horrid shape. The greens were bumpy and definitely had not healed properly from getting punched. This was the case for most all the greens on the course. Putts consistently were bouncing not rolling true. I'm almost positive they haven't been rolled since they got punched, they were SLOW and inconsistent. When you can clearly see and feel (with your hand) the indentions from the tines... it's pretty bad. The weather probably didn't help, the greens were so saturated that there were footprints left by groups ahead.
Fairways were in typical fair muni course shape, so not too many complaints there.
Pace of play was great, we finished within 4:30.
Course is definitely a plotters course. If you're going out there for the first time, make sure you research the course on google maps before you head out. The cell coverage is slim to none unless you have Verizon.
I might give this track one more shot in the summer, the views and wildlife on the course were a pretty neat experience.
Blue Rock Springs Golf Course - West
Played On 08/31/2018Speedy Round
The west course is probably in the best shape I've seen in a few years. It looked like they recently just redid the bunkers and got the fairways healthy. The only 'disturbance' if you want to call it that was the tree clearing on 8, otherwise great weather allowed for a great round. I don't know if it's because it was a Friday morning, but we got through the round in under 4 hours, a first for me at either of the two courses.
Rancho Solano Golf Course
Played On 07/28/2018In great shape!
Rancho is probably in the best shape I've seen it in. The greens rolled true and the fairways were manicured. Can't wait to play again.
Blue Rock Springs Golf Course - East
Played On 04/28/2018Blustery Day out on the Course
The East course is probably in the best shape I've seen it in the last few years. The course in general is well taken care of with fairways and rough cut to a decent length. The driving range is no exception, the turf was in excellent condition and allowed for a good warmup. The only thing that needs work are the bunkers. The all have pebbles in them and I have a new "love mark" on my sand wedge after unearthing a decent rock below the surface...
The pace was a bit slow, but understandable as I was directly behind a tournament.
Hiddenbrooke Golf Club
Played On 03/31/2018Bunkers...no sand...
The gentleman working in the pro shop answered the few questions I had with great enthusiasm and made sure I understood his answers. He made an extra effort to help me find an item which is always awesome. The Starter and cart staff are always ready to help when I arrive at the bag drop off. Way above standard for the area in my opinion and one of the reasons I keep coming back. The service of the staff that work here is awesome.
The tee boxes could use a bit of work. The white tees had quite a few in which a decent stance couldn't be achieved. I understand there may be some un-level boxes but there were a few that had almost foot sized holes in which your feet could vary in depth almost a whole 2 inches. The bunkers also could use a little sand. I found my self in 3 bunkers (holes 1,11,12) and in trying to play a splash flop shot I hit mud below. On hole 11, I hurt my wrist a bit finding a drainage pipe only an inch under the surface.
The greens were micro-punched but the sand filling the holes wasn't really consistent giving the ball a bumpy roll. I'm sure this will be fixed here in a few weeks as the weather warms up.
Paradise Valley Golf Course
Played On 03/25/2018Sunday Twighlight
The golf course is great shape. With all the rain it was cart path only on 4 holes that weren't par 3s. This course drains well and can be played if there has been rain in the recent past. I should have walked as it is an easy course to walk, especially when it's a slow Sunday. It took just about 5 hours for the round. We were told once to pick up pace, but were waiting on the box for most tee shots. The trend for this course is over 4.5 hours if you don't tee off before 8am and around 5.25 hours on busy twilight days.
The course is great about youth being on the course. I've been taking my 8 year old for a few years now. For him we play scramble format to keep up with the pace of the course. Look into the Youth on Course program if you bring out your younger golfers.
Green Valley Golf Course
Played On 03/23/2018Green Valley CC
The course was in excellent shape. From the practice areas, to the course and amenities on site. All of the staff in the clubhouse made my playing partner and me feel right at home. The course: The rough was on the longer side, but it was probably due to all the recent rainfall and inability to mow. The greens were in great shape and rolled superbly. It's definitely plotters course, and knowing your shot shape and distances is key on a few holes. Pace was a slight issue and at times a lengthy wait.
Eagle Vines Golf Club
Played On 07/29/2017Slow Day on the Course
For some reason they put a single out by himself with a pair behind my tee time. They didn't offer to marry them up to speed up play. The single ended up skipping holes due to slow play. A 7am tee time turned into a 5 hour round. Marshals were out but seemed to not speed up pace of play. Made for a difficult round.
The prices you posted in the picture are there per person or is that per group?
