Blackstone Golf Course
Played On 04/01/2023Sad
I have been playing this course for several years. This was my first time playing in over a year here. What was once a 5 star course and would give any of the resort clubs a run for their money is sadly no more. Fairways are horrible. Little grass. Lots of washouts. Tee boxes are okay. Greens are the best part of the course. Cart paths are eroded and washed out in places. I was absolutely shocked as this used to be one of my favorite courses in the area. Sadly I would not recommend in it's current state and I will not be back anytime soon. Sooooo disappointed.
Hilaman Park Municipal Golf Course
Played On 07/28/2017Best I've seen it
To be a city ran golf course, this is one of the best in the area. From tee to green it was in the best shape I've ever seen it. Everything was green and lush. The greens were in superb shape and was rolling smooth and fast. You won't find a better course for the money in the area. It is not a very long course so most people won't be able to hit driver on every hole but you will use every club in your bag. I highly recommend this course to anyone.
Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club
Played On 07/27/2017Great course, poor customer service
This is a really nice course. From tee to green it is top notch. It did appear that they have drainage issues though as some holes were cart path only and were pretty wet and soggy. Layout is great but it is a very tight course. Definitely a ball striker type of course. If you play "spray and pray" golf this course will test your nerves and cause you to lose a lot of balls. Now to the bad....upon arriving at the course, there was 2 members of their staff sitting at the bag drop. Not one of them spoke. No good morning and no assistance offered with the bags. Loaded bag on cart myself while they just sat there and watched. Same thing happened as other golfers showed up. In my opinion, if you are going to have them there and paying them, maybe they should do something. At least a simple good morning and/or welcome will go a long way. Or at least point people to range, putting green, even home 1. Just thought the customer service was not up to par.
Eagle Nest Golf Club
Played On 03/30/2017Needs work
Layout is nice. Starter was friendly. Cannot see how people are giving this course 4 and 5 stars though. Fairways were hard with minimal grass. Greens were rock hard and would not hold a shot at all. Wouldn't even leave a ball mark, just bounce and roll off. This lead to really fast greens. Of the 5 other courses that we played in Myrtle Beach, this was easily the worst. Guess we got what we payed for. My advice is spend a few extra dollars and play somewhere else. I do not recommend this course and would not play it again.
SouthWood Golf Club
Played On 01/13/2017I've seen it in better shape.
This was not my first time playing this course and I've seen it in much better conditions. Not that it was bad. The fairways were mostly brown as if they did not overseed them for the winter or if they did, it did not take. Some spots were very soggy and it had not rained in almost a week. Tee boxes and greens were in fairly decent shape and the greens were fast and true. Not sure that it's worth the price point so I'll probably wait before I play it again.

Played On 08/14/2016Go Somewhere Else
One of the worst courses I've ever played on. Tee boxes grass was so high even teeing the ball up you still would trap grass in between the ball and the club face. Fairways were overran with mushrooms. Greens had several bare spots and "sand traps" in them. The only 2 highlights were the free range balls and that we basically had the course to ourselves on a Sunday (guess that should have been a hint). I will not be returning to this course and would advise other people to find a better option.
Crooked Cat at Orange County National
Played On 03/22/2016As good as advertised
Played this course as a replay round after playing Panther. Very nice and we'll maintained. There is no short par 3s but they are not overly difficult. Only complaint was the pace of play was a little slow. Waited for every shot. Ranger came around and said that we just had to be patient because the course was full. We still finished the round in 4.5 hours as a twosome. Would definitely recommend this course. It's nice but if you get the chance, the Panther course is better in my opinion.
Panther Lake at Orange County National
Played On 03/22/2016Absolutely amazing
This course was beyond great. First class from parking lot to 18th green. Pace of play was perfect. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in pristine condition. I cannot honestly say one negative thing about this course. I would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely play here again if I'm in the area.
Grand Cypress Golf Club - Links Course
Played On 03/21/2016Best Grand Cypress course
Nothing like I could have imagined or played before. Probably as close as I'll ever get to playing the Old Course at St. Andrews. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone. Wide open fairways and double greens abound. It's almost like hitting on the driving range and I loved it. Would play again if I get the chance.
Grand Cypress - North/South
Played On 03/21/2016Tight course
Very nice course. Everything was in great condition. Two complaints though. 1. The course layout is really jammed together. 2. We were one of the first ones off on the east course and never had anyone in front or behind us. After playing the East, we moved to the North where we waited almost 30 minutes to tee off, due to people starting on the north course and it being backed up. Due to that pace of play suffered somewhat. It almost seemed like the course was overbooked or they should not start people off at the same time on different courses. Overall though it's a very nice course and I would recommend.
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 03/20/2016Typical RTJ course
This is definitely a RTJ designed course. Hills, bunkers, hard and fast greens, but beautiful layout. Definitely a shot makers course as it is pretty narrow and tight. If you spray the ball around the course, this is probably not the best course for you cause you will lose lots of balls. Other than that, I would recommend this course and I would play it again.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 03/20/2016Nice course
Really enjoyed playing this course. The greens were very receptive and the course layout is spectacular. The greens were running pretty fast and true but after the rain shower they got slick which made putting a little more challenging. No issues with pace of play. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone and I would play it again if I was in the area.
Capital City Country Club
Played On 01/17/2016Wet, muddy, and cold
This is a nice course with a great layout as I have played it before. Heavy rainfall the night before had left the course with standing water and muddy conditions from even in the fairway. The cart paths (which are very sparse) are in dire need of repair. There was also a couple of greens that the sod patches are still trying to grow in. Overall, it really is one of the nicer courses in Tallahassee and for the hot deal price, you can't beat it. Just don't go after a recent rain as the course has poor drainage.
Blackstone Golf Course
Played On 12/02/2014Absolutely amazing course
Great, great course. From the tee boxes to the greens they were in excellent condition. Great scenery. Elevation changes. Everything you would expect in a 5 star golf course. I have played several courses in the Destin area, and even though this course is off the beaten path, it is one of the best in the area. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back to play again.
Bay Point Resort - Meadows Course
Played On 11/18/2014Meadows course
This is a nice course. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes were in excellent shape. It is not an extremely difficult course, but you do have many blind shots. A cart GPS would be nice. The back nine seemed more challenging to me as the front nine seemed like you were playing the same hole over and over. Overall it is a nice course and I would play it again.
The Golf Club of Quincy
Played On 11/12/2014Best shape in a long time
I have played this course several times and this was the best shape I have seen it in a long time. The greens were in great shape which is usually the weak part of this course. The fairways were a little long in some spots and bare and hard in others, but overall it was in great shape. If it stays in this type of condition, I will definitely be playing here more often as it is close to home. May be even willing to get a membership. Definitely recommend this course to anyone in or visiting the area, as it is a great course with plenty of challenges for any type of golfer.
Legacy Golf Club
Played On 11/04/2014Hard Greens
Overall this is a nice course. It is jam packed as many holes run side by side, and back to back. My biggest complaint was the greens. I realize they are new greens but it is like hitting your ball on concrete. They are very hard. There is no stopping your ball on the green from an approach shot or even a pitch or chip. You are better off aiming short and letting the ball roll up on the green. Makes for scoring extremely difficult.
Thank you for your review. Our course has been very busy since our recent renovations and we have been quite pleased with the condition of the greens following the rejuvenation. Holiday even had a new course record set during the Emerald Coast Pro Golf Tour last month! New greens are always firm but will soften over time. We thank you for playing Holiday and appreciate your feedback.

Bay Point Resort - Nicklaus Course
Played On 10/25/2014Best Course in PC
This is the best (non-private) course in Panama City Beach. Having played the Hombre, this 2 or 3 times better. Great layout. Friendly staff. Course in excellent condition. Fast greens. Beautiful scenery. This is a must play if you are in the area.
Links at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
Played On 10/21/2014Not up to the Sandestin standards
This course is in need of some TLC. The greens sre in very bad shape with many bare spots. After having played the Raven and Baytowne, it was a disappointment to play the course. Desk guy was not very cordial. Practice putting green was the best green in shape and it wasn't the greatest. Driving range was closed so that they could cut the grass. Best part of this course is the scenery. Do not know if I would play this course again.
Indian Bayou Golf Club
Played On 10/21/2014Great course
This is a great course and an excellent value. From tee to green, the Creek/Seminole course was in excellent condition. The greens rolled true and fast. Staff was extremely friendly. This is also a very challenging course. As mentioned, it is next to an airport, but the planes did not bother me or my partners. Will definitely be playing this course again.
Hi John, I'm glad you enjoyed the course. I would like to speak with you about the staff issue. I only have one cart staff in Thursday's. I'm curios who the other staff member was or if you played a different date reported. We try to provide an amazing experience for everyone on and off the course. Please give me a call at 904-824-4653.
