Crane's Landing at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort
Played On 09/03/2015Hot day for golf
94 degrees and humid. Not typical for N. Illinois in early September. Course was in excellent shape, but many holds on back 9 were designated as cart path only despite needing water, not that it was wet. On a hoy, humid day, the extra hiking was inconsiderate. Mentioned this to staff, but got no response except that these holes are often wet - NOT TODAY! Otherwise the outing was worth a repeat. Ladies tees are very advanced forward which thrilled my wife!
Sanctuary Golf Club
Played On 4/10/2013Nice course, some pretty water views.
Forming up from spring conditions. Challenging, very scenic, with lots of egrets, gators, and other wildlife. Not crowded when we played - fast pace. Relief from the crowded courses on Hilton Head Island. Greens and fairways are in good condition. Well worth the drive from HHI to play a good course that presents varied difficulties on a pretty environment.
Nice play
Nicely maintained for late March. Fairways in very good shape, greens still show core aeration plugs, but not terrible. Cart paths need upgrade Many greens largely unprotected for run-ups and pitches. Some water hazards, but not killingly so. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall good value.
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
Played On 3/26/2013Still winter conditions
Even though this is late March, course is still in winter condition. Needs water and over-seeding. Nonetheless, worth a visit as we were able to book 18 holes for $15 each including cart! Staff was very friendly and let us get off as a 2some. Off island near I-95, but worth a look.
Rose Hill Golf Club
Played On 3/18/2013Good value, speedy play.
The course is much improved from last year. Some areas still in winter condition, some greens spotty. However, good value for the money. Surprised as our experience last year was poor because of poor course conditions. Worth a try.
