Beautiful course

The Highlands is one of the best courses in NWA. The 9’s were inverted which is really the best way to play this course as the front nine is much more challenging and tracks through the forest. Course condition was fantastic. We got a great deal and were able to play for only $31. The greens were in pretty great shape, and the bunkers are well maintained. Something really cool is that the bunkers in BV don’t use a white fluffy sand like at other courses, but it’s not dirt either. I can only describe it as a “gritty” feeling that causes your wedge to skim through very well. I love hitting out of them. Everyone was super happy and friendly here. One staff member even stopped and joked with us on our 11th tee box as he was driving back to the club house. Pace of play got a bit backed up on the back nine. Our pace was at 4:25.

Solid

If you can secure a deal for it, you might as well play it. I know Ft Smith has had issues with golf courses but I’m glad BG is still around. Course is very patchy and has a lot of drainage problems but it’s fairly priced imo. Several holes have amazing grass and setups (Silo’s par 3’s are fantastic and look great). Greens run on the slower end but roll true.

It's a decent course if your looking for a fun afternoon

The Sallisaw course isn't the best, but I've played worse. Overall the course layout is fun for all players, but the greens are in desperate need of repair. This setback may require a scratch golfer who is looking for a serious match to want to go to a higher quality course. The biggest complaint I have personally is the fact that there is no sand, only compact dirt that feels cheap and not fun. There is some patchiness along the edges of the fairway, and the cart path's need to be torn up and replaced along with the bridges over water. The clubhouse does not serve meals of any sort, unless you count a bag of chips from the vending machine a meal.
