Oaks Golf Course at Christmas Mountain Village
Played On 07/27/2021Tight course, great shape.
The course was in great shape. It rained for about 30 minutes after second hole, but when we went back out there were no water issues. The sun came back out and we were able to finish up without further delays.
Painted Mountain Golf Club
Played On 03/27/2021Nice Course, slow weekend play
This is a nice course winding among the homes. Driving accuracy is important. As indicated in other reviews, the pace of play on the weekend is slow - 4.5 hours. The greens were fair, not overly fast or complicated, and the par 4s were somewhat short if you are a long hitter. We'd be interested in playing again, just not on the weekend.
Oaks Golf Course at Christmas Mountain Village
Played On 08/11/2020Very Nice - Much improved conditions
The fairways and greens were in wonderful condition. Played there 2 years ago and can tell they have put a lot of work into improving the course. A GREAT experience. Greens rolled true, traps were well maintained, and the "trip through the woods" on the back 9 is challenging.
Pueblo El Mirage Golf Club
Played On 02/15/2019Nice Course, Free Airshow
Nice Course, reasonable speed on fair greens. Bunkers were soft, fairways in good shape. Front 9 is more open, so you can figure out how to hit it straight by the back 9. Need to really watch the tee box signs on the back 9. Local Air Force base provided a free fighter jet air show during the round. We got out early before a number of 4 somes, so the pace of play was perfect.
Halifax Plantation
Played On 10/17/2018Nice Course for Golfnow price.
This is a classic Florida housing development course, without the frequent water hazards. Fairways were nice and wide, traps were in good shape. The greens were a bit slow, but the undulations and pin placements were fun. We played in the afternoon, done in 3 hours. Only appeared to be one other 3-some on the course, and they let us play through. Would go again at the hot deals price.
Oaks Golf Course at Christmas Mountain Village
Played On 09/26/2017Nice Layout - worth Golfnow Price
Course in good shape for fall round. Even the sand traps were nice after rain the day before. Greens were a bit slow, and a few tee boxes need a bit more grass, but overall is an entertaining course with elevation changes, some challenging water locations, with a few narrow tree lined fairways.
Peninsula Golf Resort
Played On 08/14/2017Nice Layout - worth Golfnow Price
This Pete Dye layout sets up for a fun round of golf. Without many trees it was visually challenging to determine distances. Good thing we had our distance finder. Almost no one else around the course. Staff was very friendly, fairways were in average condition, the rough was a fair length, greens were a bit slower than we are used to, but rolled true and were nicely undulating. The traps were more like waste bunkers, not really playable. Would certainly go back for the price. Too bad it is "out a ways" from anywhere.
Bent Creek Golf Course
Played On 08/09/2016Neat old course, needs TLC
This course was probably pretty neat and fun to play in its day. However, it is clear that the ability to keep up with fairway, green, and bunker maintenance is lacking. Very slow greens, in poor shape. It is a fair and sometimes challenging layout. No distance problems playing from the blues. Watch out for #10-13. Precise shots are required. It would be best if you could drive ahead and preview these holes if you have not played the course. At the Golfnow price, it is an OK alternative, but I would be very hard pressed to recommend paying full price. I will try other courses in the area before coming back to this one. Very little clubhouse amenities.
Devils Head Resort & Convention Center - Glacier Course
Played On 07/25/2016Great Views, Nice Course - well worth the drive
The Glacier Course has very nice views and challenging but fair holes. It was in very good shape, although the greens were running a bit slow. The greens did hold the ball well, so you could shoot at the pin. The rock "fence lines" were entertaining, and the rough was there, but fair. Plenty of room to land tee shots. Definitely worth the drive from Wisconsin Dells area, especially at the Golf Now prices. Will go again when we get back to the area. Staff was very friendly. Great pace of play with 3:00 p.m. later tee time.
Old Silo Golf Club
Played On 07/09/2014What a gorgeous course!
We got a GREAT rate on Golfnow to play this course. It is one of the prettiest courses we have ever played. You need to make sure to hit it straight on many of the holes, but we would go back and play it again in a heart beat. Managed to land in at least 4 of the 84 bunkers, two of which were in excellent shape, the other two were a bit wet for some reason. The greens were smooth and reasonably fast, with some slight undulations that made them entertaining.
