Sabal Springs Golf & Racquet Club
Played On 02/20/2024Questionable procedures
This course continues its less than friendly policies to golf now customers. They refuse to let you tee off early even if there are open times ahead of your tee time. Most annoying and feels very unfriendly is not allowing you to put your clubs on the cart until 15 minutes before the tee time. Staff politely inform you of this, but why? This practice has been going on for years now. We play a variety of courses in the area, no other course uses this approach.
Where do other golfers come from and go to. At least 2 groups of 2 players appeared behind us for 3-4 holes, then disappeared. One 2some passed us, played 2 holes then disappeared. Members must be coming onto the course as they please. Made it difficult to judge our pace of play.
Seminole Lakes Country Club
Played On 12/02/2023Pace of Play on Saturdays
Do not book her on Saturdays. A women's group has the last tee time before GP,GN.
It looks like they just line up and go one group at a time. There appeared to be atl least 6 groups. There were 20 people lined up just to check in, which took 20 minutes. The ladies grp in front fell about 1:5 holes behind and could have cared less. This has happened before here so it appears to be set up this way. In fact, GN,TO should probably look into the situation.
Seminole Lakes Country Club
Played On 11/08/202360 minutes behind, slow play, unfriendly starter
There were 16 carts lined up ahead of us to start on the back 9. Our tee time was delayed by over an hour due to an house event ahead of us. Then play was painfully slow.
After waiting in line for 30 minutes, I was sure not to be aggressive, rude or impatient and asked the starter if there was a reason some groups were not going off front bc there had been no groups teeing off the front in the last 30 minutes. In a sarcastic, unwelcoming voice he responded with, well you don’t know much about golf do you. My response- wow that was unfriendly, I did not ask you for your opinion regarding my golf knowledge, I asked a reasonable question considering the long wait. He then continued to explain how if groups were sent off the front, there would be a bottle neck at the turn around. . I then explained that
If only a few groups in the back nine line went off the front there would not be a bottle neck at the turn. (By alternating first nine, then 2nd nine groups the tee offs should only be about 8 -10 minutes behind. Do this 3 times, and the tee times become is only 24-30 minutes late. This would likely cut the overall wait time half. Not sure if my explanation was clear. Did I say the cart backfired and bottomed out. Not mpressed.

Hot day, and slow play do not make for a great day.
Almost every lie is a tight lie.
Seminole Lakes Country Club
Played On 02/21/2023Brutal pace of play
Took over 4 hrs to play a course that can be easily played. In 3 hs and 15 minutes. Instead of having two staff in the starters area, assign one of them to get out on the course and keep the pace moving. Way too many golfers are clueless on how to keep the pace of play reasonable. Pace of play will discourage us from returning.
Heritage Landing Golf & Country Club
Played On 02/25/2020Great Course
I would call the layout traditional. Greens were on the quick side but reasonable and true rolling. Fairways were wide and forgiving. Staff were welcoming and friendly. This course like all great courses provides free range balls for warm up. Pace of play was good. Water was in play frequently the landing areas were wide enough to accept less than precise tee shots. As the course grows in popularity, I expect greens fees to rise. A great course for the area.
Twin Isles Country Club
Played On 10/22/2019When we arrived we found out the back nine was closed.
At the time of booking, it should have been clear that the the back 9 was closed. Whose fault, neither the course or GN care.
The 4 some of folks in front playing from the seniors tee needed a lesson on how to keep the pace of play without having to rush or hurry ones play. For.example, leave the cart in the designated location and record scores back on the cart, not on the edge of the green. Play ready golf.
Coral Oaks Golf Course
Played On 10/17/2019A traditional layout, with some interesting challenges,
Have played here about a dozen times. We only play here in the off season bc the winter fees exceed its value.
The starter is sensible and allows you to. tee off early if there is an opening. The staff treat golf now golfers with respect which is not always the case at other courses. Course can be played in under 4 hours if you are not held up by those whose skills are lower than their personal assessment of their skills.
Perth Golf Course
Played On 05/31/2019Members out of Order
We play here quite often and enjoy the staff and the course. As we headed to the back nine, two walking groups of 4 had cut infront of us on the tenth hole. They were obviously part of a special Friday night nine play. We were 4 on carts. The back nine has a numberof long par 5s. The pace of the two waking groups was very slow. We unhappily gave up, played the front nine a second time.
Sabal Springs Golf & Racquet Club
Played On 03/22/2019Tight course, good value
Greens were a bit slow but consitent. A very tight course. Some weeds make for rough condtions when hchipping from about a yard from the fringe. Ovearll good condtions. Tee boxes shoukd be be more level.
Sabal Springs Golf & Racquet Club
Played On 02/02/2019Is it unreasonable to tee off early when possible?
Have golfed at Sabal Springs many times, and use Golf Now quite frequently. This is the only course that insists you tee off exactly at the paid for tee time, when there are vacant slots for the 30 minutes ahead of the booked time. Not buying the irrational excuse given for such.
This poliicy does not encourage bookings at a course where bookings are needed for cash flow.
A tight executive course, okay conditions. Staff on the desk are appropritely friendly. Small putting grren availbke and a comfotable, cosy bar to enjoy a beverage afterwards.
Twin Isles Country Club
Played On 11/13/2018Good Value
Conditions vastly improved over last year at the same time. Fairways are a bit thin. Greens are very good. One of the few places that provides range balls in the green fee. Water and ice availbale on the course. The staff and members are welcoming. The course is florida flat without many trees. Fairways are wide enough and configured well so that hitting into other fairways is not an issue. Pace of play is superb. Always enjoy golfimg here.
Good rate made it okay.
Have played here twice in the recent past. We got one of the cheaper on line rates so the value was good. The greens vary from good to not good. Fairways can be very thin with some weed patches here and there. We were often pushed the group behind us and we were just a twosome and not slow. We always kept up to the twosome in front of us. They were obviously members just being AHs, well just the one male in the group was .Staff are welcoming and they use common sense in sending you out on the course. If you arrive early and there is a clear opening they put you into the earlier slot. It has been very dry and the course has suffered because of it.
Cape Royal Golf Club - Queen/King
Played On 03/10/2016Not a good value for $37.00
Played Queen and King courses
Have played 3-4 courses in the area and some of them cost far less and were in far better condition. Many bunkers on the Queen course were muddy, packed down and either stoney or shelly. Many Fairways had very little or very short grass and were quite hard as were the numerous sandy greens. No real rain lately so can't understand the conditions issues for mid March. Would not play here again this season due to the course conditions to price value.
Palmetto-Pine Country Club
Played On 10/20/2014Post Summer Conditions
The $17 price made the outing acceptable for a mid Oct. course that was in just okay shape. 2 holes were closed, a fair number of large noticeable weeds on many thin grassed fairways, many Tee boxes for position # 4 closed, greens thin but good enough to put fairly. Good pace of play.
Great new GPS devices on carts.
Sabal Springs Golf & Racquet Club
Played On 2/10/2012Tight excutive course with average conditions and staff.
This is a tight excutive course with numerous homes 10-15 yards from the fairway. The small, slow running greens were quite shaggy. The grass on the faiways was quite thin. Very few oppoprtunities to use a driver. Ones does not come back to club house until the 18th and there were no washrooms on the course. The fellow on the desk was unreasonably slow and offered none of the above information, yet he knew we were first timers. He was not an overwelcoming individual for his position. Great target golf course. Many 6,7 8-9, pitching wedge, T shots from the white Ts.
